Apart from my core work, I am passionate about Educational Technologies, Code Health and core system performance improvement areas. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2016 – Present | Sunnyvale, California, United States Tech Lead and Engineer Manager in the Workspace Security Team - focussing on strong foundational security for Google Workspace. My team owns and build new security features to ensure regulatory compliance and offer protection against new threats facing our workspace customers like data exfiltration, account hijacking, privilege escalation, insider attack, etc. We manage, monitor, govern and secure access of our users to their workspace data via first party or third party web or mobile apps. The infrastructure and products owned by my team enables us to provide ZeroTrust security solutions to our customers. On the technology front, my team owns several large scale distributed systems serving millions of queries each second analyzing every access to workspace data - keeping the bad actors away. Besides my primary work I am also contribute towards improving the code health & readability of Google's large codebase and help teams build a better work / team culture. I also advocate for privacy and security to be given more consideration across Google. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Google Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 Software Engineering Intern at Google's San Francisco Office, CA. Worked with the cloud datastore team to create a sample application using the NDB Api that demonstrates the best practices of using Datastore. The application was accompanied by a blog post that also discussed the frequently occurring pattern and approaches to deal with most common scalability issues while using Cloud Datastore. ### Winter Intern @ Money-Smart Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Worked on data synchronization mechanism between native Android application and Ruby on Rails server. • Carried out a brief literary survey on best practices and available implementations • Designed and implemented cloud data synchronization mechanism for Android Clients • Optimized synchronization mechanism for slow and erratic networks by compressing data and batching network as well as I/O bound operations • Measured performance under various network conditions • New mechanism was found to be 36% faster and consumed 23% less bandwidth ### Summer Research Intern @ Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Research Work in the Fundamental Research Group.
