# Ashwin Rastogi > Software Engineer at Google Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/ashwinrastogi ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2022 – Present | Sunnyvale, California, United States ### Physical Electronics Graduate Researcher @ Nanoelectronics and Nanostructures Group Jan 2019 – Jan 2022 | Berkeley, California As an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science student with a keen interest in Physics and Math, I work under researchers investigating the potential use of laser-based optical-switching of magnetized materials in spintronics. While spintronics in principle could significantly alter memory storage architecture, its speed is limited by gyroscopic precession of the magnetization. However, with optical switching, no such gyroscopic precession is observed leading to ultra-fast switching of magnetization (and accordingly ultra-fast switching of binary bits). My responsibilities include: ◦ Collecting and analyzing all-optical switching (AOS) data for antiferromagnetically-aligned ferrimagnetic films using image magneto-optic-Kerr-effect and single-sort laser pulses to find ideal alloys for applications to memory technology with tunnel magneto-resistance ◦ Currently working on simulations for the time-resolved dynamics of ferrimagnetic films under the microscopic-3-temperature-model (M3TM) using Python to identify conditions for desired AOS behavior. ◦Prepared and tested high-temperature annealed samples to identify limiting conditions under which desired magnetic behavior disappears ### SWE Intern @ Dropbox Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | San Francisco Bay Area Team Adoption focuses on projects and features that aim to convince free basic users to become paid users. As part of this software engineering and development internship, I worked under Team Adoption (now called Team Space) on a project that simplified the process for employees to join team workspaces on Dropbox. The project targeted employees that used basic Dropbox accounts on their work domains instead of utilizing licensed accounts registered with the employer's Dropbox Business account. I added user flows to Dropbox’s website via a new conditional section on home page to increase transparency between basic users on business domains and the corresponding organization’s Dropbox Business account. I created new website components using React/Redux and modified and created API endpoints to enable interactive user-team actions along with extensive server-integration testing. Through this project, I earned Dropbox an expected $700K in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) by increasing the number of business account licenses purchased. ## Education ### Master of Science - MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science University of California, Berkeley Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Electrical Engineering Computer Science UC Berkeley College of Engineering Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ashwin-rastogi-088193169 --- Source: https://flows.cv/ashwinrastogi JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ashwinrastogi/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
