# Austin Kim > Senior Backend Software Engineer Location: Lehi, Utah, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/austinkim I graduated with BS in physiology / neuroscience and worked on several projects under the supervision of three world renowned professors at a highly competitive neuroscience university. I was introduced to Matlab programming during my last research project in a computational neurobiology lab, which began my voyage into the realms of computer science. What started as an investigation to broaden my capabilities for my intended PhD studies turned into a new inquisition. I became friends with the CEO of Domo, Josh James, and he offered me to work for him, despite my inexperience. While working at Domo, I took several online classes at universities or coding sites. I have come to love mastering new concepts and developing creative and elegant solutions. ## Work Experience ### Senior Backend Software Engineer @ LiveAuctioneers Jan 2022 – Present | Lehi, Utah, United States Backend software engineer building out shipping integrations with UPS in Go microservices for auctioned items. ### Software Engineer @ Vivint Smart Home Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | Lehi, Utah, United States Building out microservices in Golang to manage communication with our services and smart home devices. ### Software Engineer @ WeWork Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Salt Lake City, UT Developed features on our space management platform to increase the manageability and utilization of conference rooms and office spaces.
