# Austin Smith > Software Engineer Location: Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/austinsmith1 I'm working on data. Recent tools I have worked with are the Spring Framework, Java, Kotlin, FastAPI, Python, Postgres, MySql, Kafka, Avro, Kubernetes, Terraform, Hazelcast, Redis, and a lot of AWS. Technologies I play with are graph databases, reactive streams, kubernetes, Minecraft server mods, quarkus, more AWS (yes for work and play), Netty, Neo4j, React, and many others. Kotlin is my happy place. Previously much of my time with Ender, SoFi, and Western Governors University was spent researching, designing, presenting, and implementing solutions to many problems individually or with multiple teams involved. Prior to that I developed and maintained a distributed multiplayer game server system and gaming community in Java for 5 years, tackling problems ranging from competitive game matchmaking, social systems, and of course creating games. The system served up to 12,000 concurrent users with over 4 million unique players. I've blazed trails alone, led teams, followed team leaders, built cohesive atmospheres for technical growth, mentored, argued best approaches with very talented colleagues, been wrong, been right, and have kept my focus on bringing about solutions to important problems however they need to emerge. ## Work Experience ### Staff Engineer @ LTK Jan 2024 – Present ### Senior Staff Software Engineer @ GoFundMe Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 ### Principal Software Engineer @ Ender Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 ### Senior Staff Software Engineer @ GoFundMe Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 ### Senior Staff Engineer, Software @ SoFi Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Murray, Utah, United States ### Staff Software Engineer, Technical Lead @ SoFi Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Murray UT ### Senior Software Engineer @ SoFi Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Greater Salt Lake City Area ### Manager, Software Engineer @ Western Governors University Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 Technical manager focusing on coaching, mentoring, and enhancing the teams capabilities.
