Besides core product design work, I've shipped 2 internal design tools to help us move faster, both built with Cursor:

1) Crank Copy is a UX copywriting assistant that leverages our internal writing guidelines + Gemini to generate high quality copy. This saves 20+ hours across the entire team per week, and supercharges our small UX copywriting team to do a whole lot more with less.

2) Crank Data lets designers one-click paste Motive-specific realistic content into their mockups. What would usually take tens of minutes per flow now takes seconds.

Coram was a blast to work at. We shipped incredibly fast as a tightknit AI-pilled team. I was the de facto product/marketing designer + PM. I led Coram's transformation into a modern, multi-product security platform in direct collaboration with the CEO. Highlights:

— Shipped 2 major new product lines: Emergency Management System, and Access Control.

— Shipped significant overhauls to the core Cameras product: v2s of Live View, Timeline, Alerts and other top-level pages, besides dozens of smaller features that customers loved.

— Regularly used v0 and similar tools to handoff intricate interactions and animations

— Implemented a modern design system from scratch, leading to rapid increase in quality and speed. Overhauled navigation, core UI components, styles and more.

— Managed and mentored a senior designer.

— Designed our Coram-branded water bottle that was delivered after I left so I never got to drink from it :(

Recruiting, coaching, fractional support and bespoke consulting for startups.

Highlights:

— Product and design talent service for multiple US-based companies, leveraging my Pakistani design community leadership and network. (10+ designers and product managers placed)

— Product design advisory for CreditBook, a fintech startup.

— Product design advisory for Shadiyana, an event planning startup.

— Fractional brand design for a stealth biotech startup.

— Bizdev for partner design agencies.

I was at Motive from Series B→F and designed for pretty much every vertical in our broad suite of products. Highlights:

— Designed both the MVP, and subsequent overhaul of our flagship Safety platform: Overview Dashboard, Video Events, Video Recall, Speeding, Dashcam Management, Settings and more. My work was prominently featured across sales and marketing material, was loved by customers, and was frequently used to win over prospective fleets. Helped Safety go from $0 to $90M+ ARR.

Beta customer: "Give a big kiss on the forehead to whoever put that together, it’s been fantastic."

— Significant contributor to our design system: Filters and Sorts, Video Player, Safety Iconography, Feed and Detail Page Layouts, AI Visualization Language, Feedback Bar and more.

— Managed the Pakistan (PK) product design team for 2 years. Bridged operational gaps with our San Francisco HQ. Established a thriving workplace culture (quantified through engagement surveys). I went back to being an individual contributor later to work on high-priority projects.

— Directly hired 10+ world-class designers in PK and established an incredible employer brand in the design community. After I left Motive in early 2023, they even reengaged me in late 2023 as an external recruiter because of my PK product design hiring expertise.

— Established and led user research. Among other studies, conducted a 39-participant pricing study that contributed to 35% increased new customer revenue (worth USD tens of millions).

Priceoye is Pakistan's largest seller of mobile phones, and second largest online store overall.

Wore many hats as a cofounder including marketing, design and research, content and investor relations. I led one key result: organically growing monthly visitors from 0 to 1 million in just under 2 years on a $0 budget leveraging SEO and content marketing. I also designed the MVP, drove the v1 brand design, and more.

I ultimately left Priceoye to pursue product design at Motive. Priceoye is now a major player in the Pakistani ecommerce industry. Kudos to Adnan and Adeel for their incredible entrepreneurial grit. I still hang around, and contribute where I can. Go Priceoye!

Designed for ListenTool, a continous performance feedback product. Addressed a number of feature requests to the product, and redesigned their homepage. I left Arbisoft to work full-time on PriceOye.

Redesigned the PTCL Smart TV experience on both TV and mobile, in collaboration with the Design Lead and a Visual Designer.

Made growth metrics go up and to the right through design, front-end eng, and product marketing initiatives in collaboration with the CEO. App Store optimization, guest blogging, referral program, push notifications, email campaigns, social campaigns on Product Hunt and reddit, and more.

Launched a technology blog focused on Apple. Led a team of three writers. It was acquired by a US-based firm for $25,000 while I was still in college.

Later on, I co-founded WindowsClan.com which was was acquired for $8,000 (so baller)

Wrote 2,000+ blog posts — in-depth reviews, tutorials, op-ed pieces and the latest and greatest news and more — for popular technology blogs like Redmond Pie, Addictive Tips, VR-Zone, WCCFTech, Sizlopedia and others. Frequently broke news stories credited by The Verge, Engadget, Mashable, Lifehacker and dozens more.

Fun fact: At around 400 words per blogpost, I've written the quantitative equivalent of 8 full-length novels. Quality though? Let's not talk about that...
