AWS Support Apps (July 2018- Present)

Project: Redesign AWS Support Dashboard

• Sole UX Designer for redesigning the support dashboard- a tool used by thousands of AWS support engineers throughout the world

• Conducted user research and analysis to design a product that complies with business needs as well as helps alleviate the pain points with the existing product

• Worked closely with Product Manager, UX Researcher and Support engineers based in US and Australia to ensure the product is intuitive and helps the end users in their everyday activity

Project: Support Dashboard backend

• Implemented various components of a complicated case data system which AWS Support dashboard will use to derive cases.

Prime Pantry (July 2017- June 2018)

Project: Prime Pantry Mobile App homepage

• Worked as a Front End Engineer for Prime Pantry team in the Consumables org

• Developed the front end architecture for the new pantry mobile app using React Native

Project: Local Promotions, Luxury Beauty (Oct 2017-Jan 2017)

Local Promotions was a project aimed at providing discount coupons on purchase of luxury beauty products at amazon.com, which would be redeemable at brick-and-mortar salons.

• As a loaned resource in Professional Beauty team, designed the system architecture for the local promotions project.

• Overcame hurdles in the promotions systems to come up with a solution that works well for this project, while also complying with the legacy promotions system at Amazon.

• Implemented the functionality for coupon redemption

Working at the Intelligent Natural Interaction Technology(INIT) Lab under Dr. Lisa Anthony. The lab focuses on Human-Computer Interaction(HCI) research with various projects aimed at studying natural interactions, of both children and adults, with different types of advanced interaction technologies such as touch, gesture and speech.

Child Interaction with Tabletop Computers

This project aims to study how children interact with tabletop computers and provide better design recommendations to make these devices more user-friendly for the kids. This is a part of the umbrella project MTAGIC (Mobile Touch and Gesture Interaction for Children) which focuses on designing and developing ways to improve the success of touch and gesture interaction of children on touchscreens.

• Developed apps for Microsoft Surface Tabletop (using C# in WPF) for conducting studies aimed at understanding the gesture and the touch interaction patterns in children

• Conducted studies in individual and collaborative environments and analyzed data, in order to provide better design recommendations

Designing and Developing Natural Speech Interactions for Children

This project aims to design and develop better interactions for children with voice interfaces. As a part of this project, we are looking to study how kids interact with voice interfaces such as Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft ‘s Cortana, Apple’s Siri and Google Assistant.

• Designed and Led studies aimed at understanding prompted and spontaneous speech patterns of children with different voice input technologies

• Analysis of the collected data is currently in progress

• Designed and Conducted baseline study with Amazon Alexa to determine the level to which it supports child interactions
