# Becca Tingley > Electrical and Computer Engineer Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/beccatingley I studied Electrical & Computer Engineering at Dalhousie University. With an Electrical Engineering degree, I plan to pursue a career path that will allow me to further modern world technology with a focus on sustainable and mission-driven engineering. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who values hard work and getting involved. I thrive in an environment where I am pushed to learn new things each day and to solve seemingly unsolvable problems. ## Work Experience ### Embedded Software Test Engineer @ Zipline Jan 2021 – Present | South San Francisco, California, United States Architecting advanced test solutions to ensure reliability and safe operation of critical life-saving hardware used in autonomous aviation. ### Software Engineer @ Audioptics Medical Inc. Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada * Computer vision processing and tracking of inner ear structures using camera data (python, c++) * Software framework development (c++) * OCT image distortion correction (c++) ### Electrical Engineer @ Neuralink Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area Test system development, backend software design, and mechanical design. ### Cell Engineer @ Tesla Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Deer Creek, Palo Alto • Architected the back and front-end software for a 60-channel R&D test fixture used in the characterization of Li-ion batteries (Python, MySQL) • Applied principles of circuit analysis to parameterize Li-ion cell impedance spectra using an equivalent circuit model (Matlab, MySQL) • Developed automated fitting and validation software in order to reduce impedance fitting times by 90% (Python) • Circuit layout and component design for a system test fixture used to validate the operational specs of cell channels. The function tester is used in-house and shipped to factory with the test fixture itself. (C++, Altium) ### Student Research Assistant @ Dr. Jeff Dahn's Research Group Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Dalhousie University I redesigned/built and created software for a 16-channel high precision storage and cycling system in order to help in the advancement of Li-ion battery research techniques. The cycling system software package also included a protocol designer and graphical data-analysis software. I gained extensive experience with object-oriented programming in order to build software to facilitate lab practices and data manipulation. ### Private Tutor @ Self Employeed Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 Physics I & II and Computer Programming. ### Teaching Assistant @ Department of Engineering Mathematics Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Dalhousie University Marked tests and assignments for first-year Linear Algebra and first-year Computer Programming for Engineers. Position was awarded based upon top academic standing within the Engineering Mathematics Department. ### Student Research Assistant @ Dr. Jeff Dahn's Research Group Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Dalhousie University Worked in cooperation with the entire lab group on the advancement of Li-ion batteries. Gained experience in a semi-industrial research environment as Dr. Jeff Dahn was partnered with 3M in June 2016 and with Tesla from May 2016 to present. Trained in several impedance measurement techniques including the FRA. Developed high expertise in building Li-ion pouch, symmetric, and coin cells. Data analysis and presentation were another crucial aspect of the position. ### Waitress/Barista/Bar-back @ Cinnamon Soul Café Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Hillsborough, New Brunswick Worked full time as a Barista, Waitress and Bar-back at a local café/restaurant. As Hillsborough is a location highly populated with tourists in the summer months it was a high stress position. Working simultaneously in all these positions requires exemplary multi-tasking skills as well as the ability to time manage and prioritize properly. With the combination of both of these factors one must have an ability to problem solve efficiently and interact with customers professionally in order to minimize conflicts. ### Community Outreach Coordinator @ Foods of the Fundy Valley (FFV) Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Albert County, New Brunswick Worked as the Community Outreach Coordinator for a local non-profit, Foods of the Fundy Valley (FFV). Tasked with researching and writing articles for the organization's inaugural local food newsletter as well as aiding in editing the preliminary copies. Gained and organized sponsors for the newsletter and managed the incoming donations. Was responsible for recruiting new vendors for the weekly local Farmer's market as well as collecting weekly funds from existing vendors. Managed FFV's Facebook and twitter feed in order to gain a larger scale community recognition and alert members of upcoming events. ## Education ### Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Dalhousie University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/rebecca-tingley - Portfolio: https://www.rebeccatingley.como --- Source: https://flows.cv/beccatingley JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/beccatingley/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
