I also serve on the board to organize on-the-ground logistics and manage two application cycles of 100+ mentor applicants. In addition I provide teaching support, guest career lectures, and planned community bonding events for fellow mentors. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Jane Street Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | New York, United States ### Software Engineer Intern @ Meta Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Menlo Park, California, United States I was on a team focused on privacy jurisdiction in Regulatory Readiness Engineering during a 12-week internship. I built and owned a Thrift API for region-specific restrictions (e.g. GDPR), called by 50+ teams 2 billion times daily. I also created a no-code tool in Hack/PHP and React for the implementation of 150 restrictions for legal compliance. Later, I had the opportunity to design and implement a consolidated data pipeline to process location-based restrictions for 40 billion Facebook, Instagram, and Oculus accounts, accelerating and simplifying the process of adding support for new account types. For many of these projects, but especially the pipeline I collaborated with cross-functional partners in design and legal to realize changes to determining restriction eligibility. ### Research Assistant - Howard Lab @ Yale University Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | New Haven, Connecticut, United States I Designed and ran severing assays using TIRF and IRM microscopy to investigate the severing mechanism of the microtubule-associated protein spastin purified with column chromatography. I also developed image analysis tools in MATLAB and models of severing behavior in Julia to validate experimental results and elucidate possible mechanisms for severing behavior. ### Chief Technology Officer @ Carbonless Community Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Chicago, Illinois, United States I worked to help manage the technology for Carbonless Community with another student for two years. I helped build and maintain a reverse energy auction platform using Google App Engine and Python to sell energy in Illinois. I also build tools to help gather information on energy use in Illinois for a variety of projects. ### Research Assistant @ University of Chicago Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Chicago I was was research assistant in the Giger Lab. I modified a convolutional neural network in Python and TensorFlow to segment and classify cellular interactions in Lupus Nephritis and prepared data used to train the model, achieving classification accuracies of 80%. I also contributed to work presented at SPIE BiOS: https://doi.org/10.1117/12.2545110 ### Software Engineering Intern @ Citadel LLC Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 I was a software engineering intern in infrastructure where I designed and developed an app in JavaScript and React Native to surface information internally to 1,000 employees. I also extended internal REST APIs with a Python backend to follow best practice and address evolving requirements.
