Leading Perception, Controls, and Manipulation for a Robot Surgical Assistant (Foam Robotics Lab w/ UPMC)

• Developed robot control and system integration for a surgical retractor-handling platform built with surgeons and robotics researchers.

• Designed control interfaces for an anthropomorphic robotic hand mounted on a robotic arm, enabling precise manipulation of surgical retractors within a dexterous surgical assistance system.

Contributed to autonomous underwater vehicle software; improved performance by diagnosing data replay and synchronization issues. Worked with ROS, middleware frameworks, and camera calibration pipelines.

• Developed software enhancing campus life as part of CMU’s premier student-run tech organization.

• Designed and implemented a platform enabling student skill and service exchange, collaborating using frontend and backend stack.

Conducted independent research on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors for Alzheimer’s treatment under Prof.Moustafa Gabr. Utilized molecular docking, virtual screening, and machine learning to identify and evaluate multi-targeted ligands.

As part of a two-week interdisciplinary program, developed and presented a research proposal on Munchausen Syndrome and Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, highlighting how animal models could advance psychiatric research and understanding of these disorders.
