# Bharat Srirangam > MD Candidate at HMS ’29 Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/bharatsrirangam ## Work Experience ### Software Development Engineer II @ Amazon Web Services (AWS) Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Seattle, Washington, United States Supporting and Developing on the Training and Certification Platform for all AWS consumers. ### Software Development Engineer @ Woot, Inc. Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | Seattle, Washington, United States As a Full Time Employee, I designed/implemented different systems and workflows for our team's stakeholders such as Customer Service, On Call Rotations, and customer experience once a customer has bought items off the website. ### CS2110 Computer Organization and Programming Teaching Assistant @ College of Computing at Georgia Tech Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Atlanta, Georgia I am currently a teaching assistant for CS2110. I get to help lead and prepare recitations where we review material from lecture with students and then give them an assignment where they can practice the material taught in class. I also create, review, and grade homework assignments and quizzes that are created for the students. Finally, I also organize office hours so that anyone can come and have their questions answered. The course description can be found here: http://www.catalog.gatech.edu/coursesaz/cs/ ### Machine Learning Research Assistant @ Healthcare Robotics Lab @ Georgia Tech Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 | Atlanta, Georgia I am currently researching the potential benefits of Generative Adversarial Neural Networks(GANS). Some of my tasks include: • Researching a way developing complete training data sets for supervised deep learning algorithms through GAN’s • Experimenting on how semi-supervised vs pure supervised learning affects GAN’s generative/discriminative networks • Technologies/Libraries used include Python, NumPy, Pytorch, Keras/Tensorflow and other in Lab developed libraries ### Software Development Engineering Intern @ Woot, Inc. Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater Seattle Area I built a service for the marketing team to create benefits for customers based on different provided qualification metrics so that special deals could be sent to and applied to any registered customer through email or at checkout on Woot.com. • I created automated benefits that could provide savings for potentially every customer of Woot (~ 9 million customers). • I developed an automated End to End Serverless benefits service with Native AWS technologies in a .Net environment. • I designed/Implemented Restful API endpoints in legacy systems/New Services that provide a foundation for future work. • I acquired strong technical communication skills and a business acumen from weekly design reviews and retrospectives. ### Big Data Technologies Software Development Engineering Intern @ Amazon Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Seattle, Washington I was a Software Development Engineering Intern on the Big Data Technologies at Amazon.com. During my internship, I had to build an application for an internal service that effectively allowed users to set preferences on website searches. This feature had to be developed with certain constraints and goals so that it could provide the groundwork for future feature development in the next 5 years, reduce search time latency, and augment/smoothen the user experience on the website. I created an end to end server-less solution with native AWS to implement my project. In order to create a service for preferences, I implemented a Restful API service with data analysis features and complete with JUnit tests and full documentation to allow for future development on my project. I also analyzed API request logs with the Hierarchal Clustering and OPTICS clustering algorithms to predict user behavior so that preferences could be predetermined. As a result of daily SCRUM meetings with my mentor/manager and demos with my team I was able to acquire strong communication skills. ### College of Computing Tutor @ College of Computing at Georgia Tech Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Atlanta, Georgia I tutored students of the College of Computing on several different subjects. I taught core Computer Science courses such as Discrete Math(CS2050) • Object Oriented Programming(CS1331) • Data Structures and Algorithms(CS1332) • Computer Systems and Organization(CS2110). ### Software Engineering Intern @ Actifio Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Greater Boston Area Actifio is a late stage startup designed to provide Data Management as a Service. Appealing to a target audience of large enterprises, Actifio sells critical services such as Disaster Recovery, Copy Data Management, and Instant Data Access. During my internship, I increased the convenience and by extension value proposition of our product by enhancing our UI with several functions such as filtering and ordering data output. I also implemented a higher standard for the quality of our product by writing several tests using TestNg and organizing the code base for the UI of the product. Overall, I also developed skills in tools and concepts such as ANT, Hibernate, and Rest API's. ### Einstein's Workshop Mentor/TA @ Einstein's Workshop Jan 2011 – Jan 2016 | Burlington, Massachusettes Einstein’s Workshop is a maker space for grades preK-10 that teaches the skills required of innovators and inventors. The Workshop is dedicated to creating an interest in STEM through camps and classes. My experiences included: • Managing customers and young children, who had questions (mechanical/conceptual/informational) • Teaching/Tutoring children in Scratch, Inkscape, NXT Design and Software, etc • Nourished basic math and engineering skills by providing robotics problems and weekly challenges ## Education ### Doctor of Medicine - MD in Medicine Harvard Medical School ### Postgraduate Degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies Columbia University ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science Georgia Institute of Technology ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/bharat-srirangam - Portfolio: https://bharatsrirangam.github.io --- Source: https://flows.cv/bharatsrirangam JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/bharatsrirangam/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-31
