• Designing flexible printed circuits (FPC), flexible circuit assemblies, flex brackets, flex gaskets, pivots, recirculation filters, injection molded plastics, guided plastic parts for ion beam soldering, and product labels.
• Designed WD’s single layer and dual copper layer flexes. Carried out 2D sketching in Auto CAD/SolidWorks for copper layout in flexes. Carried out design of complex 3D solid models and 2D drawings in accordance to ASME Y14.5-2009 Standard. Incorporating GD&T in drawings.
• Investigating mechanical failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Analyzed designs for stress/thermal/modal in ANSYS.
• Closing design for manufacturing (DFM) with suppliers and to design for assemblies (DFA) with factories and suppliers.
• Led a project to identify and implement a new high strength engineering polymer for plastic brackets.
