FEM simulation (with ABAQUS) model was developed with 3.5” and 2.5” form factor disk to know the natural frequencies and modes of vibration for aluminum substrate. Vibration data acquisition was done with NI 9233 DAQ device, accelerometers and LabView 2012. Results: A co-relation was established between the air table pressure, vibration amplitude, position error signal (PES) spectra & non repeatable run out (NRRO) amplitude to tune the air table pressure for optimum vibration results.
