# Bjorn J. > Senior Software Engineer at Fulfil Solutions Location: Campbell, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/bjornj I'm a senior software engineer specializing in robust multi agent planning at a grocery automation startup. Check out my portfolio at bjornjohnson.com! ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Fulfil Jan 2025 – Present | Mountain View, California, United States ### Software Engineer II @ Fulfil Jan 2023 – Jan 2025 ### Software Engineer I @ Fulfil Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 ### Student Researcher @ UCSD Advanced Robotics and Controls Lab Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | San Diego, California, United States Used reinforcement learning to automate suture needle passing as a surgical subroutine using the Da Vinci Research Kit ### Controls Software Intern @ Fulfil Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Worked on multi agent path planning algorithms for large scale robotic automation ### Intelligent Systems Intern - Tensegrity UAS @ NASA Ames Research Center Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Mountain View, California, United States Designed and simulated flexible multirotor vehicles using CannonJS JavaScript framework. Integrated standard quadrotor components with a tensegrity ball structure to design a flexible mulitrotor vehicle capable of withstanding high speed collisions ### Aeronautics Intern - Web Development for Covid Relief @ NASA Ames Research Center Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Mountain View, California, United States Built a website to support Covid-19 relief efforts consisting of a classifieds-style web portal for farmers to list excess produce and organizations in need to browse and connect directly with the producers. We collaborated with food banks and local farmers to design and promote the platform, and partnered with AngelFlights West and the Farmlink Project to facilitate the delivery of roughly 6,500 pounds of food to food banks in need across California using aerial transportation. ### Research Assistant @ Existential Robotics Laboratory Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | UC San Diego Collaborated with a team of graduate researchers to develop quadcopter sensing, estimation, and control algorithms capable of aggressive autonomous flight in cluttered areas ### Aeronautics Intern - BURD Project @ NASA Ames Research Center Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Mountain View, California Designed a software tool for determining the optimal physical configuration of a multirotor aircraft given a specific mission, accounting for factors such as endurance and stability. My segment of the project included creating a custom controller for a reconfigurable drone which could achieve stable flight with varying numbers of propellers and accurately track complex parametric trajectories. To verify our results and extrapolate into more complex builds, I expanded a software simulation of a drone to include real time power usage, distance logs, and various flight statistics. I also collaborated to build, flight test, and analyze data from multiple of our theoretically optimal aerial vehicles. ### Head of Engineering @ Westmont High School Robotics Team Jan 2014 – Jan 2018 | Campbell, California I was in charge of overseeing mechanical sub-system design, teaching CAD design, and training younger members on manufacturing practices for my high school robotics team. We spent 6 weeks each year designing a robot to compete in FIRST Robotics Competitions, and repeatedly qualified for semi-finals in the toughest regional in the nation. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science UC San Diego ### Westmont High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/bjorn-l-johnson - Website: https://bjornjohnson.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/bjornj JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/bjornj/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
