• Designed and built the group’s first facility for carbon nanotube growth.
• Patented a generally applicable method for anchoring nanostructures within thin layers (microns) of material.
• Discovered and studied capillary-based self-assembly pattern formation in vertically-aligned carbon nanotubes, and patented a related method of fabrication.
• Discovered and studied liquid wicking through carbon nanotube arrays and patented a related method of passive fluid self-transport.
