During the 2 years as software engineer in NetApp, I severed as a frontend and backend developer for OnCommand Unified Manager. There are three areas I focused on:

1. Increase scalability / maintenance for data acquisition unit

2. Support new features in OCUM on both frontend and backend

3. Maintenance OCUM's in-house open source angular component library

It was a great experience to work on storage management and performance analysis software, facing the issue that customer's needs for data is growing at a rapid speed. I worked on projects include:

1. Unified management and performance analysis software into a single UI to give user a consist experience

2. Fixed scale problem and provided user a monitor method for scale issue

3. Supported configuration management and performance analysis for new features added into NetApp's storage product

Added new ZAPI support for acquisition software.

Optimized acquisition software memory usage.

Replaced Java EnumMap and BigInteger with a map dedicated on holding integer values less than 96 bits.

In acquisition software, applying the new map reduced 50% of memory for store data polled from NetApp ONTAP storage system.

The total memory usage of acquisition software reduced to 70% by applying the new data structure when polling a 8 nodes cluster.
