# Brendan D. McIlhenny 兰德 > Software Engineer Location: United States, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/brendandmcilhenny Software Engineer (mostly Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/React but whatever language the challenge requires) with a passion for collaborating, building and solving problems. Started my career at a tech startup in Beijing China, which led me to attending San Francisco’s 500 Startups accelerator program, which led me to studying code at Flatiron School in New York City, which led me to creating video content for Codecademy, which led me to here: I currently design and develop applications, tools and automations as a Software Engineer II on Workable's Technical Operations Team. Non-professionally, I love reading, learning about the world, languages, biking, surfing, and the blues. If there's one thing that's consistent about me throughout my life it is that I've always been curious and open-minded and I hope, with these attributes, I ultimately find myself in a line of work that helps spread good, whatever form that might be. Made it this far? Thanks for reading!
