I am a software developer and researcher. My primary motivation is to make the world a more equitable, empathetic and efficient place through the use of user research and software.

My professional goal is to contribute to projects that combine a deep domain with challenging technical problems, and in doing so, helping people and society.

My technical focus is in algorithm development, especially search, scheduling and pathfinding.

Developer and user researcher. Built custom software tools for the department of defense. Conducted original research, synthesized and formalized doctrine into formal rule systems. 

Conducted user interviews and knowledge acquisition sessions. Implemented various constraint solving and scheduling systems. Also worked on front end visualization and user interaction tools. 

Work was done with a variety of tools including Java, python and javascript (React, OpenLayers, Konva)

I worked for the Skype calling team to improve calling infrastructure and developed a experimental Skype client. I also learned the basics of the Azure cloud service. Over the internship I used C# and javascript.

I (along with a team) developed an API for the control of a robotic hand using CAN (Controller Area Network) communication. We then used this API to construct a costumer facing user interface using python's tkinter library. Over the internship I used python.

I worked with the Center for Advanced Aviation System Development to develop scripts to analyze voluminous flight data. Over the internship I used Java, Matlab and R.
