• Ramped up quickly to master Vue and take over maintaining the team's component library + Storybook and tackled the most complex UI components

• Built an internal tool from the ground up that let designers customize shaders

• Used AWS + DynamoDB + React Three Fiber & deployed via CI/CD

• Conducted exploratory research, design, development, user testing, and maintenance for a Figma plugin to fetch media content from internal APIs to insert directly into designs

• Surpassed expectations by delivering a more complete experience than initially scoped for the MVP and made additional improvements by soliciting designer feedback

• Managed a team of 6 design technologists and motion designers

While I was leading the team, we:

• Shipped new animations to introduce each major section of the tax forms and to celebrate customer progress along the way

• Explored new motion designs for AI interactions

• Shipped new internal tools, prototypes, and documentation sites

• Brought on an additional motion designer full-time based on the quality of their work

• Built and shipped creative web marketing experiences that design struggled to ship previously

• Iterated faster and with a designer’s attention to detail. Considered responsiveness, accessibility, interactivity, animations, load times, asset compression, and more by default. Projects ranging from entire microsites to individual pages and components.

• Drove the adoption of Lottie to ship motion designs across QuickBooks and TurboTax with technical explorations including playback control, dynamic content, and reducing load times.

• Rapidly prototyped iterative experiments with real dynamic data for projects including the first version of QuickBooks for Mexico and many new bookkeeping experiences

• Contributed components and documentation to the Intuit Design System.

I collaborate closely with other designers to quickly build and iterate on mobile-first prototypes for user testing and to deliver production code. I primarily work in JS (ES6 / React), HTML, & CSS, with a few other libraries.
