Created to emulate WPF and allow .NET developers to port their apps to the Web platform using more of their existing knowledge. Supplanted the need for third-party solutions such as OpenFin. It had few runtime dependencies besides React itself, which was a preference of the client. ● Provided not only a wide range of UI components, but also a framework with pluggable APIs. Apps may be constructed as discrete modules, deployable entirely in parallel, using an architecture analogous to browser extensions. ● Developed a robust toolchain that included various forms of automated testing, which were based heavily on Storybook and Docker. ### Senior Software Architect & UI Lead @ Chase Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater New York City Area ### Senior Software Architect @ Chase Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Greater New York City Area Replaced an aging C# WPF application suite with a React- and Redux-based total rewrite. Served as the architect and senior developer of this transition, launching several of the suite’s initial applications. ● Ecosystem: Created an independent library of advanced components and utilities. Over 80% of the applications in the suite offering were expected be founded upon that work. ● Testing: High-coverage BDD with Jest. ● DevOps: Introduced modern, industry-wide solutions for the team’s toolchain and code standards. ● Mentoring: Held 1-on-1 and team-wide training sessions for concepts like React Hooks. ● Team: Aided in hiring and onboarding new staff. ● Progress: Recognized issues with team’s REST-based APIs and introduced the concepts of GraphQL. ### Senior Full Stack Engineer @ American Express Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Manhattan Primary maintainer in sunsetting the AngularJS and Express codebases behind Amex’s customer-facing credit card shop, which included adding crucial new features, as well as providing tooling and architectural support. Also provided architectural consulting for the next-generation React-based replacement product. ### Web Designer / Developer @ Victoria's Secret Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Manhattan Served multiple additional terms, by-request from client, to develop the annual Fashion Show digital project. ● Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show “Runway Insider” Second Screen Experience Served as sole developer of VS’s largest digital product outside of their e-commerce platform, a Web app synced with a television broadcast. Application was ported to homegrown React and Redux UI engine for the 2017 Fashion Show. The original architectural design was heavily based on a class, component, and module approach, utilizing the latest advancements in JavaScript and tooling. Bespoke template and CMS systems were developed to work with Victoria’s Secret’s in-house content delivery and scheduling system; these were seamlessly integrated with React. WebGL and various animation approaches were used to create a hyper-optimized, responsive, fullscreen visual experience that could run on mobile systems as old as iPad 2 (2011). The experience was also accessible to screen readers and keyboard users. ● 360-Degree Media Player A player for all-direction panoramic videos and images. Utilized WebGL via three.js, and delivered as a Web Component via Polymer. Ran on all devices and platforms which supported WebGL. Node.js-based tooling was developed to enable full support on older platforms for maximum reach. ### Mobile Designer / Developer @ Bank of America Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Manhattan Served as lead developer on internal software for audiences ranging in size from entire departments to Bank’s 200,000 employee population. All were single-page, full-stack JavaScript applications. ● Mobile App for On-the-Road Technicians, “ITTM” A ticket tracker created from scratch for mobile, allowing phone technicians to display and update job tickets. Proof of concept built using Polymer, final product using AngularJS with Angular Material. ● Workforce Triage for Managers, “Capacity” Allowed managers to assign projects to employees, with built-in realtime collaboration and reporting. Designed to be lightweight and portable between hosting environments, it used a custom UI framework and a dependency system based on ES2015 modules. Later, version 2.0 was rebuilt with AngularJS, as well as (upon client request) Kendo UI. ● Timesheet for Employees, “Hours” Replaced the legacy “Clarity” timesheet system. Like Capacity, this was founded on AngularJS and Kendo UI. ### Web Designer / Developer @ Victoria's Secret Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | Manhattan Served as lead or sole developer on several highly visible projects. Worked heavily with an Angular-like MVC framework of VS’s own design. ● Prototype Web Conversion of Native App Converted VS’s primary native app to Web technologies, packaged for native installation with Cordova, which incorporated Crosswalk. Delivered on the pre-stated goal of providing indistinguishable UX and performance, using nothing other than vanilla HTML/CSS/JS and Cordova plugins. ● Yeoman Generator Created intricate scaffold, which formed the basis for all future frontend projects at VS. Provided for three project variants. Used Node.js and Yeoman APIs in tandem with Grunt scripting and large Gruntfile configurations. ● Markup Feature Component Builder Internal tool enabling non-technical staff to completely produce and publish the most common VS site content, including video, entirely without developer support. Implemented a PowerPoint-style graphical interface, which provided a live preview for static and interactive content alike, with rich, animated transitions for the latter. Image and video assets had client-side lazy-loading enabled automatically. ● Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show The premier “special project” of the year for VS FEWD. Required a highly modular architecture in order to facilitate content management and timed content releases. Fully responsive, single-page application. Unique touch-based interactions on mobile. Heavy incorporation of 3D CSS. ### Director, User Interface Engineering @ 360i Jan 2008 – Jan 2014 | Manhattan Hands-on lead, managed a frontend development team, as well as directorial duties for the Technology organization. Mentored, trained and provided oversight on all digital products. Used a .NET C# API for the headsets as part of a local server, which spoke to the game client in realtime via WebSockets. The client itself ran a fullscreen instance of Chromium designed to run only the game. Graphics and animation used hardware-accelerated DOM, with some 2D canvas effects. Also provided all voiceover for the game, recorded in a sound studio. ● Guinness Pub Finder Lead development on native-feeling application for iOS, Android, Facebook and the Web. Packaged with PhoneGap. Web Platform highlights included touch events, geolocation, AppCache, and hardware-accelerated CSS techniques. Unique adaptive approach employed that involved dynamic viewport generation, making this app’s cross-platform reach economically feasible. ● Odwalla Winner of 2012 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement. ● Ben & Jerry’s City Churned Created animation engine, given to frontend developers and Flash animators, who produced dozens of set-piece animations. ● Black & Decker ServiceNet Very large e-commerce application.
