# Bruce Ferguson > React Native / React Software Engineer | Mobile & Web | TypeScript | Building High-Performance Apps Location: Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/bruceferguson Software Engineer | React Native • React • TypeScript • Full-Stack Mobile & Web I build high-performance web and mobile applications that scale — with a strong focus on React, React Native, TypeScript, and modern full-stack architecture. Over the past several years I’ve worked on both startup products and large-scale production platforms, helping teams turn ideas into polished, real-world applications used by thousands of users. Most recently I worked as an Application Software Engineer at Agrian (TELUS Agriculture) where I helped develop and improve the company’s flagship platform used across the agriculture industry. My work focused on improving application performance, enhancing UX fluidity, and implementing innovative approaches to querying and offline support for field users. Earlier in my career I worked with smaller product teams where speed and ownership were critical. At Aphid, I led development of a full-stack React Native application prototype in just one week for an investor demonstration — taking the product from concept to a functioning mobile application. I thrive in environments where I can own features end-to-end, collaborate closely with product and design teams, and deliver applications that feel fast, intuitive, and reliable. 🛠 Core Technologies React • React Native • TypeScript • JavaScript • Node.js • GraphQL • REST APIs Expo / EAS • AWS • Docker • PostgreSQL • MongoDB • Git / GitHub 📱 Areas of Focus • Mobile-first product development • Full-stack application architecture • Performance optimization & offline-first apps • UI/UX-focused frontend engineering • Shipping production-ready applications quickly I’m always excited to connect with engineers, founders, and teams building ambitious products. 📬 Open to interesting opportunities and collaborations. ## Work Experience ### Application Software Engineer @ Agrian by TELUS Agriculture Jan 2022 – Jan 2026 | Austin, Texas, United States Worked with front and backend teams to built and maintain the new flagship app for TELUS's Agriculture division. • Worked closely with backend and UX/UI teams to improve the fluidity of our applications, thus improving user experience. • Introduced and implemented a different type of innovative software on both web and mobile applications that resulted in fast load times and overall performance on queries. • Used URQL to support offline behavior for our customers. • Vastly improved overall look and performance of our web/mobile applications. ### Full Stack Engineer @ Aphid Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area • Worked with small development teams and product managers to build out their vision from scratch. • Designed client-side and server-side architecture. • Built the front-end of mobile/web applications through appealing visual design. • Built features and applications with a mobile responsive design. • Lead development for Aphid's react-native app. Successfully produced a high functioning, full-stack application within one week for investors. ### Full Stack Engineer - MostDays mobile app @ MostDays Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area Built the front-end of a social media app that provides a helpful community and tools to assist people in rehab and/or therapy.
