Data-oriented Software Engineer in Azure AI/High Performance Computing's telemetry team leading the failure prediction efforts for Azure High Performance Computing clusters. Implemented systems to gather, process, ingest, and leverage telemetry (in particular, GPU data and InfiniBand Network data). Tasks and responsibilities vary from software engineering and data engineering (such as building data pipelines and deploying models) to data science (data exploration and model training). Common tools and technologies leveraged include Azure functions, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Databricks (with code/experiments in PySpark), and internal orchestration tooling.

Responsibilities:

• Application development for a complex distributed internal enterprise-level application managing end- to-end Quote to Cash complex deal workflow

• Developing and implementing micro-services architecture in GoLang for deployment on Kuberenetes

• Leveraging gRPC and protocol buffers to implement action-oriented API's

• Front end feature development using React + IBM Carbon Design System

• Containerized applications for deployment on RedHat's OpenShift Container Platform

• Served as the Technical Owner for three internal applications used within IBM

• Participated in UX design, prototyping, development, and testing phases of an internal full stack web app on IBM Cloud

• Iteratively collected feedback from a user council to best serve the needs of 2500+ users

• Created a Metrics dashboard that pulled data from a MongoDB database to present (via Flask) various productivity metrics in real-time on an IBM Cloud hosted front-end

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (also known as a Learning Assistant within the UNC CS Department) for COMP116 (Scientific Programming) with Dr. John Majikes in Fall of 2018, and for COMP455 (Models of Language and Computation) with Dr. David Plaisted in Spring of 2019 and Fall of 2019. Duties include grading assignments, holding office hours, review sessions, proctoring exams, and answering student questions on Piazza.

Worked on a Scrum Development Team (per Agile methodology) to write end-to-end tests using the Protractor framework for the U.S. Army's LT2 (Live Training Transformation) training system GUI (an Angular/Angular JS application). Also worked to fix/update batch scripts to support ATF (an automated test framework), which allowed for continuous testing by running the Protractor test suites nightly on a VM and uploading the results to a shared drive (all via automation).
