Conduct research on energetic photons and solar energetic particles associated with solar flares observed at Mars using data from NASA’s MAVEN mission.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze measurements from the Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) instrument, including X-rays, gamma-ray bursts, electrons, and ions, to study timing, flux, energy distributions, etc.

• Develop skills in visualizing and analyzing space mission datasets using IDL, and perform cross-dataset comparisons to build a catalog of solar energetic particle events that contribute to MAVEN’s scientific output.

• Collaborate closely with Dr. Ali Rahmati and the rest of the team through regular meetings at the Space Sciences Laboratory.

Teach after-school math enrichment classes for K–8 students through Descartes Learning Club, delivering structured, engaging problem-solving lessons in both in-person and virtual environments. • Promoted two full cohorts (≈15–20 cadets) from the introductory program into Alpha Flight, the squadron’s senior cadet group.
