# Cameron Bailey > Staff Software Engineer at Rescale Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/cameronbailey I am a results-oriented person. I enjoy taking on complex challenges and breaking them down into simpler components in order to gain a deep understanding of them and synthesize novel solutions. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Rescale Jan 2024 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area ### Senior Backend Engineer @ Rescale Jan 2021 – Jan 2024 ### Backend Engineer @ Rescale Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco Bay Area ### Software Engineer @ Digital Guardian Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | Mountain View, California Developed a RESTful service using JAX-RS to handle cloud remediation actions involving files discovered by the Digital Guardian file inspection service. Cloud remediation actions are currently handled by bash scripts that contain complex, provider-specific logic and tweaks (providers include Box, OneDrive, and Egnyte). The goal is to simplify the existing bash scripts and make them as provider-agnostic as possible by moving all the complexity to a Java based REST service layer, allowing the code to be consolidated into a single library. Currently working on the Digital Guardian Network Security Appliance. ### Student Researcher @ Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 I studied novel, faster radiation detector scanning techniques in order to characterize the position response of high purity germanium detectors. I also analyzed experimental data using ROOT, a data analysis framework developed at CERN. ### Chemistry Tutor @ Los Angeles Pierce College Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 | Pierce College I tutored students in general and organic chemistry during my final year at Pierce College. ### Summer Researcher @ UCLA Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 I participated in a project that utilized trehalose-based polymers to prevent the degradation of pharmaceuticals within the human body and thus, improve the efficacy of pharmaceuticals. I synthesized protein polymer conjugates using RAFT polymerization and worked on developing hydrogels as part of the project. ## Education ### Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering Carnegie Mellon University Silicon Valley ### Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical and Nuclear Engineering University of California, Berkeley ### Los Angeles Pierce College ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/cwbailey1 --- Source: https://flows.cv/cameronbailey JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/cameronbailey/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
