# Caricia Catalani > Product & Design Executive | Health Innovation | AI Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/caricia I’m a product and design leader. My mission is to build technology and organizations that expand access to health, equity, and wellbeing, while making the process of building itself simpler, faster, and more human. I believe that the best teams are those where every person is empowered to lead—whether they manage others, own a product, or co-pilot with AI. For 15+ years, I’ve partnered with c-suite executives, start-up leaders, and health systems cut through ambiguity and complexity—translating ambitious ideas into products and organizations that scale. I specialize in simplifying and adapting product development lifecycles, building cultures where purpose-driven and data-driven decisionmaking flourishes, and aligning teams from scrappy prototype to launch early to relentless improvement to health impact. My leadership philosophy: nurture belonging, multiply leaders, and create clarity. I thrive in environments where teams need to move fast and navigate complexity—whether that’s regulatory hurdles, scaling adoption, or aligning across disciplines. Above all, I’m passionate about building organizations where people, products, and data come together to help people live healthier, happier lives. Cheesy! I know. But it honestly fuels me. ## Work Experience ### Vice President, Product and Design @ Omada Health Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco, CA ### Director, AI Health Products @ Google Jan 2022 – Jan 2025 | San Francisco, CA I joined Google's health organization, Verily (formerly Google X), to learn about scaling social impact technology and health AI -- enabling billions of people worldwide to gain access to health care. ▪ Founded our innovation Accelerator, guiding 16+ AI and UX health concepts from raw idea to product-market fit, securing leadership buy-in and early investment. ▪ Led design of our first AI health products (patient coaching, research, imaging) to launch within commercial partnerships of over 14M patients, paving the way for 2025 public beta. ▪ Built our AI strategy, product lifecycle operations, & ethics framework, embedding safety, inclusiveness, and regulatory readiness into development cycles in partnership with cross-functional leaders in Product Management, User Experience, Engineering, Clinical, Regulatory/Legal, and Marketing. ▪Partnered with c-suite on cultural initiatives, creating trainings and enablement tools for every Verily employee on equity and belonging, earning user trust, patient empathy and shared mission, and AI adoption for non-technical talent. ▪ Forged alliances with life sciences, pharmaceutical, health care provider, payer / insurance, and government partners to expand adoption across clinical research and health systems serving 77M+ patients. ### Head, Product / Design @ Pear Therapeutics Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco, California, United States I joined this rapidly growing startup to learn to build software as medicine -- behavioral health experiences that could be launched worldwide with no need to swallow a pill. ▪ Led Pear’s design org through IPO, expanding pipeline from 3 to 23 digital therapeutic products and establishing Pear as a platform company. ▪ Designed and launched the first FDA-approved digital therapeutics (substance use disorder, insomnia, depression), achieving improved outcomes over standard pharmaceutical medications and payer reimbursement pathways. ▪ Increased new user acquisition by 210%, retention by 716%, and engagement by 250% through data-informed and human-centered design sprints aimed at our new user experience and engagement features. ▪ Partnered with Chief People Officer to launch a series of culture change trainings and enablement tools that improved creative problem-solving, belonging and inclusion, and storytelling capabilities across the organization. ▪ Streamlined launch cycles by embedding regulatory, clinical, and patient co-design into discovery and new agile launch rituals. ### Director, Design for Health @ IDEO Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 | Palo Alto, California, United States I joined IDEO to learn about human-centered design for social impact -- building life-changing experiences that people love. ▪Directed IDEO’s Health Studio, a 60+ person org launching dozens of new ventures, products, and services in health, life sciences, and public health. ▪Led global accelerator with St. Jude & WHO, increasing pediatric cancer treatment access in 19 low-resource countries. ▪Designed and launched a portfolio of adherence tools with Gilead for HIV treatment and prevention, adopted by 600K+ people and linked to a 38% reduction in new U.S. HIV infections. ▪Co-created Bedsider.org with community partners, now serving millions with reproductive health education. ▪Supported 200+ health and wellbeing entrepreneurs to achieve product-market fit and secure early funding. ### Team Lead @ IDEO Jan 2014 – Jan 2017 | Palo Alto ▪ Redesigned the voting experience for Los Angeles County, later adopted by tens of millions of voters. ▪ Developed an AI-driven mobile clinic to support people managing chronic conditions, serving 1.4M underserved patients. ▪ Designed an AI-infused hospital information system that flagged patients needing extra support. ▪ Created the Willow™ breast pump and companion app for working moms — drawing from lived experience as both a designer and new mother. ▪ Applied a broad toolkit of qualitative + quantitative methods to guide human-centered design decisions. ▪ Thrived in a creative, impact-driven team culture, tackling complex health and social challenges. ### Faculty @ University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health Jan 2009 – Jan 2019 | Berkeley, California I joined the faculty to mentor and learn from students, advocates, entrepreneurs, and researchers.
