The inputs and outputs were done through BigQuery and subsequently pushed into services using a Golang worker for UI reporting. Implemented the scheduling system for the ETL using airflow and kubernetes. - Implemented a queuing/worker architecture for the several services using celery and ElastiCache. This system addressed pitfalls in reporting and revenue calculations - Exposed several fields to DM’s public API for consumption by the new react & react-native experience. - Created several architectural proposals that were successfully implemented by other core developers. - Created a dockerized solution for the partner solutions SOA stack using docker-compose and docker. This allowed developers to test locally and have an end to end test environment w/o mocks. - Technologies: GCP, BigQuery, kubernetes, Flask, Docker, lambda, Airflow, Dataflow, Eve, PHP, Python, Golang, AWS ### Engineering Manager @ Offerpop Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 - Worked as an Engineering Manager of eight developers using SCRUM methodologies with distributed DevOps and QA (and any other bottlenecked resources) among the team. The core focus of this team is to own the entire consumer experience with a focus on visual UGC. This included building out new feature sets while also maintaining legacy platforms, optimizing accordingly based on business value and risk management. Initially started as one large team to build out the platform and then broken down into two teams to work on new MMFS in parallel. - Managed eight employees in Dev (three), QA (one), Data Science (one), SWET (one) and Dev interns (two) to build upon the product line with a focus on expanding our feature line, scalability, stability, and optimizing cost/billing parameters. ### Senior Software Engineer @ Offerpop Jan 2012 – Jan 2015 - Worked as a Team Lead of four developers in a multi-team project that allowed clients to create custom responsive web experiences with drag and drop components and real time previews. The system is built using a Flask SOA, React, and Flux. Contributed to the overall architecture and design of the system. - Led a team of three developers to develop a gallery app that aggregates UGC from various social networks based on hashtag. We implemented reporting, data capture, data collection, and a campaign builder for clients to customizability of application content and creative. This was popular among enterprise clients and was used in live events such as Superbowl promotions by Radio Shack and Volvo in 2014 and 2015 respectively. - Created post-processing tasks using Celery that allowed concurrency with workers. Post-processing dispatched Celery tasks to concurrent workers to perform operations such as auto-responding to entries, image processing, and URL shortening. This allowed scalability as web and data load increased. - Planned the architecture, specification and public documentation for Offerpop's first public API. Led a team to follow through on implementation and meet the committed deadline. This feature has directly led to closing over $500k in sales revenue from January 2015 to April 2015. - Maintained Offerpop's Twitter platform and made various improvements for efficiency, API versioning, TOS compliance and usability. Changes included bug fixes, batch requests, caching, rate limit handling, and synchronizing deleted data with Twitter to the Offerpop platform. This work resulted in becoming a Twitter Certified Partner and obtaining a Twitter display license. - Was a member of the emergency first response team that triaged production issues and performed fixes—including scaling up servers, performing escalation processes, code releases, etc.—efficiently and promptly. This work helped maintain a 99% uptime and was crucial during large client events. ### Software Developer @ Offerpop Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 -Developed and maintained marketing applications for Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Offerpop-Sample-Campaigns/281649815213927 1) Deals: Bargain/Coupon showcasing aggregated within a Facebook Tab. 2) Look book: Product showcasing via an interactive slideshow 3) Fan Gallery: A social community app for brandpages within Facebook. -Implemented a unified dashboard with a self-serve payment system using the Facebook and Chargify Python API. -Implemented Cron jobs to use the Twitter Streaming API in addition to the REST API for tracking tweets based on keywords designed by the campaign.
