Hi 👋 I’m Carly! Here’s a poem I wrote during my last job search:

I only write simple and elegant code 
In vim, eclipse, the browser, or node.

I can build a hash map and do bitwise conjunctions, 
But prefer writing classes and lambda functions.

SQL or NoSQL? There are many theories. 
I use both and avoid n+1 queries.

GraphQL is the best for data retrieval 
Making Rest APIs look downright medieval.

On the front-end, my expertise lies in React
I pair it with Redux to keep data intact. (UPDATE - I no longer use nor like Redux)
And while they make for a mighty pair
I follow Abramov’s advice–Use Redux with care!

While React has become rightfully enshrined 
Making front-end development so streamlined, 
From its efficient DOM updates to all of its Effects, 
I’m still savvy with vanilla JS and CSS flex.

My personal trials with Javascript asynchronicity 
Have given me mastery of async/await simplicity.
I never leave a promise unhandled or mismanaged, 
always using the Event Loop to my advantage.

I bundle my Javascript with Webpack
Building web apps from scratch, all full-stack.
My CSS is device-agnostic and ADA-adhering 
Caring most about the human side of engineering.

My passion is making websites beautiful and easy to use.
