# Carmen H. > designer & founder Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/carmenh Software Designer building queer digital communities and working on AI enablement for small businesses. Currently bootstrapping Freddie, a sapphic & trans-centered social app built on the ethos of early internet spaces: owned, intimate, and not algorithmic. Most recently, I led design at OpenSea across product systems, creator tools, token trading, mobile, and AI driven trading experiences I'm available for fractional or freelance work where I can build agentic workflows and shape AI product experiences. I bring design systems thinking, a founders mindset and hands on agent development using OpenClaw & Claude Code. My interests include healthcare design, AI ethics, agentic workflows, open source software, and small business tech. And most importantly, I have a deep curiosity on how AI is changing knowledge work. Send me a note if any of this resonates. ## Work Experience ### Founder @ Freddie Social: LGBTQ+ Community Jan 2023 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Freddie is a queer social app and digital third space for the sapphic & trans community. Inspired by the early internet, it combines nostalgic features with modern social tools: Feed & Personals – a mix of regular posts and retro-inspired personals (like newspaper classifieds). Customizable Profiles – reminiscent of MySpace, letting users express themselves fully. Events Hub – both community-driven event posts and aggregated local happenings. Spaces – topic-based micro-communities where members can gather by shared interests. Bootstrapping with a small team (one engineer and one marketing partner) while shaping the product, design, and community strategy. ### Design Lead @ OpenSea Jan 2022 – Jan 2026 Joined OpenSea through the acquisition of Gem NFT marketplace. Redesigning OpenSea – in Oct 2023, partnered with one other designer to rebuild OpenSea’s design system and core product surfaces from the ground up. Major Surfaces – worked across profile, collection pages (items, traits, holders, etc), token trading and Creator Studio. AI & MCP Experiments – currently exploring AI-powered interfaces that use OpenSea MCP data to provide traders with a conversational UI for insights, transactions, and asset management. The OpenSea design team is just two people. Emphasis on this. ### Design Lead @ Gem Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 We were acquired by OpenSea.
