Our lab focuses on developing and testing molecularly targeted therapies and immunotherapies for metastatic prostate and ureter tract cancers. Through close collaboration with urologists and oncologists, we use patient-derived xenografts (PDX) and organoid models to test novel therapies and investigate mechanisms of resistance. I contributed to preclinical studies that supported an FDA-approved IND amendment, leading to a Phase 1B clinical trial (NCT05156905) investigating Cirmtuzumab plus docetaxel in metastatic CRPC. My work involved analyzing ROR1 expression in patient specimens, maintaining organoid models using cell culture and microscopy, and using scRNA sequencing and IHC assays to study treatment mechanisms. These experiences deepened my understanding of the scientific rationale behind drug development, taught me critical thinking, and highlighted the researcher's role in advancing evidence-based therapies. https://urology.ucsd.edu/research/jamieson-lab/about.html ### Residential Advisor @ UC San Diego Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | San Diego, California, United States - Served as first point of contact for residents, regulatory agencies, and sponsors, followed up to ensure resolution - Utilized sound judgement skills to verify and determine eligibility of and gather consent from residents for student events, ensured compliance to all school policies -Developed and facilitated community events centered around inclusivity, diversity, and equity -Played a key role in monitoring visits, whilst undertaking regulatory audits of apartments and work, ensured policies of UCSD residential life and the UCSD Code of Conduct by enforcing disciplinary action ### Undergraduate Student Researcher - Asian Grocery Store Program @ UC San Diego Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | San Diego, California, United States ### Health Educator @ Huckleberry Youth Programs Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco, California, United States -Established partnerships with underserved schools in San Francisco with the aim of improving health literacy among youth; developed and facilitated medically accurate, youth centered workshops on several sexual and reproductive justice health topics to over 5,000 young adults -Created a social media platform to increase access to health education information and to create awareness on topics related to social and reproductive justice -Developed a Peer Health Education Summer Internship Program, designed, and delivered bespoke training sessions on a wide range of health topics most relevant to participants -Collected and managed data relating to the success of workshops ### Sales Representative @ The Bay Company Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | San Francisco Bay Area ### Product Designer @ Cyly Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | San Francisco Bay Area ## Education ### Bachelor of Science in Public Health Minor in General Biology UC San Diego ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/catalina-arreola --- Source: https://flows.cv/catalinaa JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/catalinaa/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-08
