My team delivered UI3 - Figma's biggest ever redesign; much-needed usability improvements to Auto Layout, along with our beloved "Little Big Updates" throughout the year. Redesigned Figma's PM screen interview and trained IC and Manager PM's on running successful interviews. ### Manager, Product Management @ Instagram Jan 2018 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco Bay Area The most fun role of my career. Joined Camera to ship AR Effect Platform and turned it into Instagram's most viral feature (even ending up in late-night TV). Specific design decisions we made gave effect creators tons of exposure and followers, allowing them to turn this into a full-time career – still very proud of having a part in this. Shipped big redesigns to Camera (after many PM's tried and failed). It's still largely unchanged 6 years later, enabling many more use cases yet still simple. I pivoted the team into Reels and video creation, growing it into 5 teams with 100+ members across 3 offices by the time I left. As a side project, I designed and piloted the "Unship Review" process that simplifies Instagram by removing features. This now continues as a program run by Product Operations; Facebook App also implemented the effort with much of the principles we originally defined. ### Manager, Product Management @ Facebook Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area Sharing is where I learned to be a PM. Led the team for growing original content production (at the time, the biggest fire in the company). As the go-to person for our org to expand into new areas, I started new teams for Integrity, Relevance and Awareness then hired PM's for them. My group drove outsize impact on the company's top priority by identifying multiple opportunities that weren't on the radar; such as Feed Ranking (We quantified previously-unknown downstream effects of Ranking on Production, causing quite a bit of controversy) and Text Posts (We launched features that make them more prominent and expressive - aka "Super Awesome Text Posts"). ### Product Designer @ Facebook Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | San Francisco Bay Area ### Co-founder, Design @ Branch Jan 2011 – Jan 2014 | Greater New York City Area Social startup acquihired by Facebook. Investors: Obvious Corporation, SV angel, Betaworks ### Product Designer @ Etsy Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 | Greater New York City Area ## Education ### M.Sc. in Integrated Digital Media New York University ### Erasmus Tampere University ### B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Industrial Design Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University ### International Baccalaureate Diploma TED Ankara Koleji ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/cemregungor - Portfolio: http://cem.re/ --- Source: https://flows.cv/cemregngr JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/cemregngr/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
