As a designer, I've refined my skills to be extremely prolific while retaining quality and accuracy – all assisted by special techniques I've developed over the years. ## Work Experience ### Senior Product Designer @ Dealpath Jan 2019 – Present | San Francisco Currently, designing and shipping numerous net-new features. These include: contextual commenting, advanced filtering, approvals, roles & assignments, ad hoc formatting, contacts, Word and Excel add-ins, and an advanced bulk uploader. Refined a bounty of features including: reporting, calendar picker, and user invite flows. Ongoing exploring ideas for iPad, advanced charting, and dashboards. Redesigned, re-organized, and maintains our Figma-based design system. Converted it from a Sketch/Invision setup, while still designing and shipping features (managed two systems concurrently during the transition... whoa) Designed and went to market with our iPhone app. This included rethinking and reformatting our top-used desktop features. I also designed a number of net-new mobile-focused features. ### Senior Product Designer @ Roofr Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area I redesigned their responsive/adaptive desktop web app, and designed an iPhone app from scratch. This SAAS marketplace is very similar to Thumbtack, Angie's List, etc. I designed a number of apps, configuring them for a painless transition into an interconnected, expansive platform. Apps designed included: satellite-based roof measurement tool, contractor/customer marketplace, a light-weight contacts crm, 3rd party financing integrations, and a building/roofing material procurement marketplace. Built their first design system, which helped streamline the design and development effort. ### Art Director @ Marin Software Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area Returning to Marin, I helped them launch its new look, brand, and platform. I also redesigned, coded, and launched a subsidiary's corporate site (Perfect Audience) ### Senior Visual Designer @ Knowledge Architecture Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Led the design effort for an Asana-like project management app catered for architectural firms. Designed a number of features including: an analytics interface (including charting), calendar picker, image gallery, and rich-text-format message editing tools for commenting. Cleaned up, advanced upon, and pixel-perfectized the app. ### Director of Design @ Marin Software Jan 2009 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Built out and lead the product design and marketing design teams – who designed and developed product features, web sites, magazine ads, collateral, email campaigns, product tours, video testimonials, and display ads. I regularly researched and evaluated our platform’s and web sites’ effectiveness, and implemented numerous immediate and long-term improvements. I wore many hats along the way to help this startup go public. ### Senior UI/UX Designer @ Marin Software Jan 2006 – Jan 2009 | San Francisco As the de-facto founding designer (employee #1), I designed a web-based, SAAS, search marketing platform, which ended up managing over $8 billion in ad spend. This involved designing pixel-perfect mockups, wireframes, and user-flows. I also reached out to customers and power users to help prioritize feature development and enhancements. Features designed included: a cross-publisher campaign cloner, a Facebook audience profile library, saved views, an advanced column chooser/configurator, contextual filtering, customizable reporting, advanced charting and dashboards, as well as a tracking url generator. ### Art Director @ Adteractive Jan 2004 – Jan 2006 | San Francisco Built and led a 10 person team who designed microsites, portals, landing pages, email, and display ads – all while meeting extremely aggressive deadlines. Tracked performance and optimized our work by using tools like DoubleClick, SDC, Optimost, and Offermatica. Also designed and utilized a number of custom-built in-house tools, including a search marketing management tool. This effort typically led to dramatic performance improvements for clients including: Blockbuster, Visa, Columbia House, Netflix, and University of Phoenix. ### Senior Designer @ Adteractive Jan 2004 – Jan 2004 | San Francisco Designed growth-focused web sites, landing pages, display ads and email. ### Senior Designer @ Fujitsu Jan 2002 – Jan 2004 | Santa Clara Designed and set the direction of the company’s UI, UX, look/feel across multiple web properties. Worked with photographers to build out an expansive photography library of Fujitsu and Siemens computing products. ### Senior Manager of Web Design & Development @ Oracle Jan 2000 – Jan 2002 | Redwood Shores Led the team that designed, developed, and maintained Oracle.com. Our team also executed all design work on the majority of the support and community sites. Designed and developed an in-house project management application – years before Asana and Jira. Myself and fellow management utilized it to manage over 30 designers across 3 teams (product, print, web). Features included: automatically assigning work based on matching designer skill with project complexity/type. It also balanced project distribution based on project status and designer workload. After collecting data for years, I set up a way for it to automatically assign deadlines and milestones based on historicals.
