# Chad Nislow > Software Engineer at MLB Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/chadnislow Hello! I'm Chad and I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, as a computer engineering major, where I learned invaluable skills (primarily how to think and problem solve) and worked with really inspiring professors and students. I love to think and learn. I am a hard working individual with a positive influence on the people around me. I thrive in teams and can help motivate people to work towards common goals. I love the Fintech industry as I think it is ripe with innovation. In general, I do my best to maximize everyday, and am looking to make change in the world. After completing M&T Bank's Technology Development Program I am continuing my work as a Backend Engineer. I am currently on the Banking Services team where I am building centralized Java/Spring libraries that interact with Kafka clusters and a Microsoft SQL database to power full-stack enterprise workflow applications enabling Banking Services business units to track and manage customer requests across the Bank. In my free time I am developing applications that I think should exist such as https://yourhero.app and https://dupe.reviews. Through this work I am continuously expanding my toolkit of technologies, design thinking, and customer focused approach towards valuable and resilient software development. Some languages/technologies I have used in these projects include TypeScript, Python, AWS (Lambdas, Cognito, AppSync, Aurora DB, S3, Credentials Manager), Serverless Framework, Github Actions, Heroku, and PostgreSQL. When I need a break from coding, I can be found practicing my saxophone, at the gym, traveling, or spending time with friends and family (preferably at the beach!). ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Major League Baseball (MLB) Jan 2024 – Present | New York, New York, United States ### Technology Development Program @ M&T Bank Jan 2021 – Jan 2024 | Buffalo, New York, United States I am currently working in an Agile environment, building APIs as part of the Bank's Core Banking Services system.
