# Chao Gu > Software Engineer at Cepton Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/chaogu ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Cepton Jan 2019 – Present | San Jose, California ### Postdoctoral Associate @ Duke University Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 • Worked on the data analysis of the JLab PRad Experiment (High Precision Measurement of the Proton Charge Radius). - • Carried out the analysis of the electric form factors of the proton at very low Q2 region for the first time and extracted the charge radius of the proton with sub-percentage accuracy which is important to clarify the “proton radius puzzle”. - • Developed a Geant4 simulation package with an independent fast optical model of the calorimeter for accurate detector response. - • Developed a set of event generators for elastic electron-proton scattering and Moller scattering to get more accurate radiative corrections. • Worked on the prototype manufacture of a Gas Cherenkov detector for the Solenoidal Large Intensity Device which will be used for JLab 12GeV upgrade.
