# Charlie Park > Software engineer at Oxide. Probably up on Mt. Tam. Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/charliepark ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Oxide Computer Company Jan 2023 – Present ### Senior Frontend Engineer @ LaunchDarkly Jan 2020 – Jan 2023 My core responsibilities at LaunchDarkly involved frontend engineering for a team focused on a combination of “administrator tooling and systems” and thinking about enterprise-scale issues (both from a UX and a performance perspective). I led several projects involving both developing new features and refactoring existing features as we grew into an organization serving global companies. The more personally satisfying (and interesting) work I did at LaunchDarkly was around accessibility. I worked on several early efforts to address poor accessibility scores, wrote our first VPAT to help prioritize areas of the product to focus on, and then — when we started contracting out accessibility audits — worked on multiple tiger teams to remediate issues regarding improved keyboard controls, screenreader compatibility, proper DOM semantics, and more. I also led several internal initiatives, rallying engineers around code migrations (moving test libraries, cleaning up old code, helping shift from JS to TypeScript, etc.). I really enjoyed helping get the ships all moving in the same direction, and giving the engineers doing the work the tools, training, and esprit de corps to get the job done and enjoy the process. ### Founder @ PearBudget Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 I developed a lightweight personal finance startup for non-tech-savvy consumers. I loved both running my own thing and operating as a full-stack engineer. Best of all, though, were the emails from customers who said how much my work had improved their lives. ### Frontend Engineer (Platform, Growth Teams); People Manager (Customer Experience Team) @ Slack Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco, California, United States I was one of the first engineers on Slack’s Platform team, where we built and launched the Slack App Directory. With a tight timeline and a visible launch event, we shipped a new pillar of the company, establishing Slack as a collaboration hub for enterprise businesses. On Slack’s Growth team, I built the front-end for the Magic Login and Shared Invites features — key pieces of Slack’s explosive word-of-mouth growth in 2016. I was also one of the first engineers on an ad-hoc accessibility (a11y) team, working to advance universal design principles and make Slack more accessible to people with disabilities. In my time at Slack I also wanted to explore people management. At the time, Slack didn’t have an IC-to-Manager path in Engineering. So I moved over to the Customer Experience org to develop those skills. I was a direct manager for 8 ICs and also led a team of 23 ICs in seven different locations around the globe. The team I managed had a Culture Amp engagement score of 95% — one of the highest at both Slack and in the entire tech industry. As a manager, I led several product prioritization initiatives, such as organizing a team to analyze thousands of backlogged Jira tickets and stack-rank the tech debt causing pain to our largest customers. I was also chosen to represent our org on a select team of leaders from Sales, User Research, and Customer Experience, tasked with reporting on core themes from customer-facing teams. I delivered quarterly presentations to Product leadership, helping them refine their roadmap based on direct customer feedback. ### Frontend Engineer @ IFTTT Jan 2013 – Jan 2015 I was an early engineer at IFTTT, a user-focused consumer app that creates a unified platform for all web APIs. I worked on all aspects of the front-end, building out accessible, responsive layouts, working on load time optimization, and improving overall user experience, using JavaScript and Ruby on Rails. I led growth initiatives, including both user research and A/B testing, focused on helping customers understand and effectively use the IFTTT platform. ## Education ### William & Mary ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/charlie-park --- Source: https://flows.cv/charliepark JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/charliepark/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-10
