These have included the deployment, securing and monitoring of web apps and containers and the creation and management of CI/CD pipelines. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Alaska Airlines Jan 2023 – Present | Seattle, Washington, United States ### Senior Software Engineer @ Trace Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | Seattle, Washington, United States At Trace, I worked as a senior full-stack developer. One of my primary roles was feature development. This entailed meetings and discussions with stakeholders about feature requirements, drawing up and submitting design documentation, planning out epics and features in our project management/issue tracking system (Jira), implementing the feature and fixing any issues if they arose after release. These features typically involved work everywhere in our development stack: frontend, backend and DevOps infrastructure. I would likewise collaborate regularly with team members, both on feature development, and during code reviews. Every couple of months, I would likewise be tasked with on-call responsibilities ### Full-Stack Web Developer @ Tactics Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Seattle, Washington, United States As a full-stack web developer at Tactics, I worked on the company retail site implementing changes and fixes for the front-end UI as well as the back-end, database and CI/CD pipeline. This included collaborating with UI designers and other devs on the visual design, and deliberating with other devs on efficient and maintainable implementation strategies. ### Full-Stack Web Developer @ iTrellis, LLC Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Greater Seattle Area At iTrellis, I worked with clients on custom code solutions for various business cases. In addition to discussing with clients what problem they wished to solve and writing up the requirements, I collaborated with the rest of my team across the entire development stack to implement a solution. This involved, among other things: designing and developing the UI, setting up and modifying back-end services to send data to the front-end, and configuring and provisioning cloud environments to host, distribute and update this software. All of this was done with a modern, agile development workflow. ### Full-Stack Web Developer @ LiveTiles Jan 2015 – Jan 2019 | Richland, WA At LiveTiles, I served as a full-stack web developer on digital workplace software for SharePoint and as a stand-alone product. I worked predominantly on development for the product's browser-based front-end as well as the cloud-hosted back-end infrastructure. My other regular duties included: setting up and improving project build pipelines both locally and in the company CI/CD ecosystem; developing and maintaining third-party product integrations such as with Power BI, Azure AD and Box; monitoring service health and responding to degradations and outages. ### Software Intern @ Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Richland/Kennewick/Pasco, Washington Area During my time at Washington River Protection Solutions, I worked as one of the primary developers on simulation software meant to aid engineers in scheduling forecasts. As my supervisor had only just undertaken the project, and our development team was quite small, I had a fair amount of input in the overall project design as well. The project's goals were to create a complete replacement for existing software written back in the 70's, but designed and developed according to modern software engineering practices, and written on a modern development platform (.NET). It was also to utilize new technologies entirely, most notably recent innovations in AI for the purposes of automated decision making. During my employment, I wrote a sizable portion of the simulation's foundation code, and also created a simple GUI to both configure the simulation and demonstrate the simulation's progress as it ran. ### Research Intern @ Washington State University Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | Richland/Kennewick/Pasco, Washington Area At the Tri-Cities branch of Washington State University, I worked as a developer for a research project called CropAuditor, which aimed to create a cloud-based management tool for monitoring crop yield for the local cherry farmers. Written in Ruby on Rails, its goal was to allow supervisors out in the field real-time access to data about their orchards through a web-based interface on their mobile devices. On the development team, it was often my job to write the front-end webpages (in HTML, CSS and Javascript) which allowed the users to log-in and pull up whatever data visualizations they required. I also wrote a bit of the Ruby back-end when the pages I created needed access to server data. ## Education ### Washington State University Tri-Cities Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 ### University of Washington Jan 2012 – Jan 2014 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/chet-mitchell-489374b6 --- Source: https://flows.cv/chet JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/chet/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
