I started my journey at a bootcamp called HackReactor and then made my way to Shipt. Shipt is a wonderful place to work at and I'm grateful for the great teammates and mentors there. Not only did I discover my love for backend technologies (Go Gophers Go!), but working closely with frontend and data science in a cross functional team was more awesome than I expected!

I have experience building APIs for web applications in a service oriented architecture (SOA) using Golang, Postgres, Kafka and launching with Docker and AWS. As part of my career, I've migrated a Ruby on Rails monolith application to micro-services, email service providers, and customer engagement platforms.

My favorite ways to relax are to play boardgames, video games, and reading books. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Journey before destination!

### Back End Engineer @ Software Engineer
Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area
Scaled horizontally to achieve throughput of over 3000 RPS by load balancing multiple EC2 instances with Nginx. Decreased average query times of a database with 10 million primary records from 8ms to 4.9ms by implementing Redis as a cache. Suppressed p99 latency to under 191ms by configuring the load balancer to use the least connected method.

Developed an android app in React Native for creating and storing character data. Implemented Firebase Relational Database allowing users to log in and access character data from different devices. Leveraged a Dungeons and Dragons Systems Reference Document API to display spell descriptions and rules.

Designed and implemented a product page utilizing React and MongoDB in a micro service architecture. Improved page load speeds by 20% by compressing images before delivery to Amazon S3. Created a feature that allows users to leave ratings and reviews. Reduced CPU load on DOM rerender by implementing a physics-based UI transition library. Deployed a horizontally scalable application using EC2 and Docker.
