# Chris Bossert > Design Engineer at Healthway Family of Brands Location: Greater Syracuse-Auburn Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/chrisbossert I am a design engineer currently working for Healthway Family of Brands in Pulaski, NY. At Healthway, I am adding to my experience in new product development that I started with Carrier. At Carrier, I was lead engineer on the 39M air handlers new product development team for about a year and a half. While there, I learned a lot regarding the importance of communication, clarity, and consistency when it came to the new development process. I am hoping to bring these lessons to my new role at Healthway, and to expand my knowledge of the new development process. At Healthway, I am managing projects in a much more comprehensive manner, involving myself in aspects of the new development process such as market research and discovery, as well as managing the design at a much lower level than in my previous role, as I am personally involved in the design, drafting, and testing of prototypes and builds. These developments are both welcome and exciting, and I'm looking forward to contributing to Healthway's efforts to bring cleaner and healthier air to our customers. ## Work Experience ### Product Development Engineer @ HealthWay Family of Brands® Jan 2023 – Present | Syracuse, New York, United States -Manages projects from inception through production -Conceptualizes new product ideas -Performs market research to understand requirements for new development projects -Designs Prototypes in Autodesk Inventor -Assures the accuracy and completeness of all drawings, files, engineering records, prints, and tasks of assigned projects -Forms qualification test plans and ensures product safety and reliability in accordance with applicable standards (ASHRAE 52.2, UL 867, CARB 2276) -Provides technical support for Manufacturing/Engineering/Sales/Aftermarket ### Mechanical Design Engineer @ Carrier HVAC Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 | Syracuse, New York, United States Roles/Responsibilities: -Designed new sections and offerings for the 39M product line -Defined requirements for customer selection software based on engineering testing and design of new options and offerings; worked directly with programming team to develop software rules and test plan to verify proper implementation of requirements Key Projects/Deliverables: -Developed test plan in accordance with AHRI 430 standard for testing of fans with EC motors using algorithmically-driven spreadsheet coded in VBA -Built spreadsheet to automate mapping of customer input parameters–such as airflow requirements, voltage/electrical requirements, and static pressure requirements–to a fan selection per supplier’s fan curves and electrical data, saving 6 months of development time -Worked with suppliers to develop and set up new corporate part numbers and specifications for various purchased items including snow screens, ECM fans, and damper assemblies -Took responsibility for a critical piece of software after a team member who developed it left the company and the server it was housed on went down; restored the server to prior operation within a week–the software running on that server was used by NPD and special order teams to prototype units, so its restoration was both vital and time-critical -Performed periodic maintenance on the aforementioned server to keep it up and running smoothly -Trained 2 employees on the 39M product, new development process, and best practices ### Mechanical Engineering Intern @ Carrier HVAC Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Syracuse, New York, United States -Interfaced with suppliers to develop design concepts for louver screen and sound attenuator options -Developed test plan for deflection, casing leakage and thermal transmissivity according to the AHRI 1350 standard and using DOE Taguchi methodology ### Deli Clerk @ Stop & Shop Supermarket Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 | Centereach, New York, United States -Gained valuable experience in customer service -Worked with co-workers to ensure speedy service to customers and timely clean-up each night ## Education ### Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Mechanical Engineering Stony Brook University Jan 2015 – Jan 2019 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/christopher-bossert --- Source: https://flows.cv/chrisbossert JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/chrisbossert/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
