I lead product design for new and existing product initiatives. I joined an original team of three to lead design at Bright Funds, a for-profit for-good company. During my time there, the company grew from an idea to a product used by companies ranging in size from startups to Fortune 500s (Box, GitHub, VMware, Cisco, Williams-Sonoma).
Worked across the full design process. From user input, concept development, prototyping, UI and UX design, and working with engineers during development and QA to see ideas to completion.
Here are some of the projects I worked on:
Product styleguide
•Designed the product styleguide and UI language of the Bright Funds product.
•Built a component library that could be accessed across the team to cut down UI inconsistencies, shorten design time, and shorten development time.
Foundation Funds
•Lead design of a new product offering to help people make smart decisions around giving and further differentiate the product from competitors.
•Lead UI design, developed prototypes, held user interviews, and helped with front-
end development.
User engagement and retention
•Developed an approach to gather insights from within the team, decide on projects, and design features that would increase awareness, engagement, and retention of Bright Funds within the workplace.
•Lead UI design and partnered with one engineer on development.
Volunteer events
•Lead a major redesign of the volunteer product to handle increased usage.
•User flows (finding events, tracking volunteer time, getting others involved) were greatly streamlined and the number of support inquiries reduced.
Grants Management.
•Designed a Grants Management product MVP to test market impact.
