I joined an original team of three to lead design at Bright Funds, a for-profit for-good company. During my time there, the company grew from an idea to a product used by companies ranging in size from startups to Fortune 500s (Box, GitHub, VMware, Cisco, Williams-Sonoma). Worked across the full design process. From user input, concept development, prototyping, UI and UX design, and working with engineers during development and QA to see ideas to completion. Here are some of the projects I worked on: Product styleguide β€’ Designed the product styleguide and UI language of the Bright Funds product. 
‒ Built a component library that could be accessed across the team to cut down UI inconsistencies, shorten design time, and shorten development time. Foundation Funds β€’ Lead design of a new product offering to help people make smart decisions around giving and further differentiate the product from competitors. 
‒ Lead UI design, developed prototypes, held user interviews, and helped with front-
end development. User engagement and retention β€’ Developed an approach to gather insights from within the team, decide on projects, and design features that would increase awareness, engagement, and retention of Bright Funds within the workplace. β€’ Lead UI design and partnered with one engineer on development. Volunteer events β€’ Lead a major redesign of the volunteer product to handle increased usage. 
 β€’ User flows (finding events, tracking volunteer time, getting others involved) were greatly streamlined and the number of support inquiries reduced. Grants Management. β€’ Designed a Grants Management product MVP to test market impact. ### Designer @ Hattery Labs Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 Designer at Hattery Labs, a UX design agency and VC firm. Worked on some fantastic projects with an inspiring group of people. Products spanned from healthcare, education, and nonprofits. As a designer, my role included visual design, interaction design, and UX research. Working directly with engineers from start through completion of projects. Applied agile design and development techniques to work fast, learn fast, and build fast. E-learning: A project with one of the largest education groups in the U.S. to understand how we could help students succeed in online education. My role included user research, product ideation and concepting, and UI design. Healthcare and genetics: Humanizing the process of ordering genetic tests and understanding the results. My role included user research and UI design. Nonprofit: In partnership with a large WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) nonprofit I worked on a product that helped organizations plan and budget new projects. My role included brand design, marketing site design, UI and style guide design. ### Freelance Designer @ Silverlign Group, Inc. Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 Freelance designer at Silverlign Group, Inc., a strategy and design agency. Assisted in web layouts for Levi Strauss & Company. ### Office of Marketing and Communications @ University of San Francisco Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 Worked on several design projects, the largest being a visual direction for a new advertising campaign for the USF School of Education. Also designed numerous print publications for USF departments. ### Manager @ Graphics Center Jan 2009 – Jan 2012 I managed the Graphics Center, which employs a team of designers to offer publicity services for members of the University of San Francisco. Tasks include managing an office of ten designers, ensuring a high standard of work quality, heading weekly meetings and design critiques, and planning yearly budgets. I also designed posters, publications, logos, brochures, and other visual materials for the USF community. I had a great time building an open and creative environment for the team of designers. ### Freelance Designer @ The Culinary Edge Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 Designed a series of storyboards depicting several options of new food lines for a major food distribution company. I developed realistic images of these new food items for consumer testing and presentations. ### Design Lab Monitor @ University of San Francisco Jan 2009 – Jan 2011 Provided assistance to USF Design, Art, and Architecture students with printing and computer difficulties. Required knowledge in printing techniques and the Adobe Creative Suite. ### Freelance Designer @ University of San Francisco Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 Designed the USF Design Program information booklet, which included information regarding classes, scheduling, advising, and other important information. This booklet was distributed to current and prospective design students. ### Photographer @ Yoga Bliss Jan 2008 – Jan 2008 Photographed Yoga Bliss Studio and models for advertising and marketing purposes.
