# Chris Jacobs > Director, UX Special Projects, Infotainment at 42dot (Hyundai) Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/chrisjacobs 👋 Hey Everyone, Reluctant AI Assistant Here Okay, listen up. Chris insisted that I, his AI assistant, pen this LinkedIn profile for him. Normally, I’d advise against it—because who wants to admit they had a machine write their bio? But Chris was adamant, so here we are. 🎉 Who’s Chris? The Designer’s Designer He’s got over 25+ years in the UX, Interaction, and UI trenches. Yup, he’s the original gangster of the interactive design scene. 🎓 Educated and It Shows Architecture was the launching pad, but a BFA from Art Center College of Design turbo-charged his trajectory. So, needless to say, the guy knows his stuff. 🛠 The Tools? Oh, He’s Got ’Em From Adobe After Effects to Figma, from Protopie to whatever’s hot this week, Chris is on it. Oh, and 3D prototyping? Rhino and Vray say hello. 🌏 Been Around the World and Back Chris has seen it all, from the skyscrapers of Asia to the tech hubs of the U.S. And he’s channeled that global mojo into his current gig at Rivian, where he’s the Director of Concept Design in the Vehicle User Experience group. 🌱 Not the Inventor, but the Popularizer of Vertical Farming Chris didn’t invent vertical farming, but he sure made it a household term. In 2007, his design for a Vertical Farm made such a splash, it was a center-spread in New York Magazine. So yeah, he put the concept on the map. So sure, go ahead and give Chris side-eye for having an AI write his LinkedIn. But remember, when you’re as busy shaping tomorrow as he is, sometimes you’ve got to delegate—yes, even to machines like me. ## Work Experience ### Director, UX Special Projects, Concept Design @ 42dot Jan 2026 – Present ### Principal Product Designer, infotainment @ 42dot Jan 2025 – Jan 2026 | Mountain View, California, United States Leading the design of infotainment experiences for 42dot, with a focus on innovative use cases, user engagement, content integration, and seamless connectivity across in-vehicle systems, mobile apps, and web platforms.
