Experienced Senior Software Engineer, currently working primarily in C++ on DV Trading’s Trade Engine for Energy Products.  Rust and Python also used for various tooling.  Experience in high performance, low-level / systems programming environments in C++ and Rust.  

Open Source contributor Yahoo Finance API (https://github.com/xemwebe/yahoo_finance_api) with over 71,000 downloads.  Also a contributor to the Amethyst and Bevy Game Engines (Rust ECS game engines). Avid builder of personal github projects, especially in low-level programming (C/C++/Rust/Zig). Have worked on Open Source used at Amazon, Google, Yahoo, and other tech firms.

### Software Engineer & Product Owner, C++ Execution Team & Quoter Platform @ DV Trading LLC
Jan 2023 – Present | New York, New York, United States
• Contributed to the execution team by owning, developing, and maintaining a high-performance C++ engine with microsecond- and nanosecond-level latency. The engine manages order execution, systematic trading, and mathematical libraries, which are exposed to quantitative traders in Python using pybind11.

• Developed an exchange simulator in Rust using the Tokio runtime, enabling the firm to test systematic traders. Improved performance by 100x over the previous Java-based tester and introduced additional features.
 
• Served as a Product Owner (Product Manager role) for new Quote Trader Platform.
  
• Conducted interviews for the systems team, leading the initial technical and memory management interview portion.

### Software Engineer @ Capital One
Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | Richmond, Virginia, United States
• Team worked on REST API microservices for recording case and client information at Capital One as well as several CLI tools for interacting with case software and data.  APIs and tools built in Rust, Go, TypeScript, and Python.

• Owned the full product cycle for an internal data science note-taking and querying platform, partnering with data science teams to identify needs, define requirements, and design the solution; implemented a Go-based service that achieved unanimous positive feedback and over 100\% performance improvement through a redesigned persistence layer.

• Served as "TDP Mentor."  A position in which a senior developer acts as a career and skills coach for a junior developer, after completing a year on a team and achieving good performance.

• Second team was a distributed systems team that worked on backend REST APIs for Capital One Card Recoveries. APIs built in Go and Java.

• Worked with MySQL, MongoDB, and various AWS database services.

• One of 4 contributors to a rebuild effort that replaced an old letter automation software.  Outages and on-call incidence decreased by 50\% each and system saved the company over 1,000,000 in the next year by using better evaluation in debt collection. 

• Member of "Coders", a Capital One volunteer service that goes to middle schools and teaches young kids to code.

### Syrian War Data Analyst Intern @ Institute for the Study of War
Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Washington D.C. Metro Area
• Used in-house software to collect open-source data and to extract information on daily events in Syria.

• Worked with team to analyze this data and use it to write memos on the Syrian conflict for management.
          1. Created geographic maps to trace ISIS activity and track territorial changes.
          2. Created a neural web mapping of rebel leadership and organizational structure.    
• Presented on a daily basis to management and other analyst teams on the current conditions and current events within Syria.
• Took leadership of the Syria Analyst Team during the transition period for October. New responsibilities included:
          1. Keeping in contact with other regional teams on current team progress.
          2. Organizing collaborative efforts on certain papers and projects.
          3. Distributing workflow.
• Provided ad-hoc analysis on projects for various EMEA teams.
