# Chris Sadler > Architect and Software Engineer Location: Menlo Park, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/chrissadler System architect and technical leader ## Work Experience ### Principal Software Engineer II @ Snowflake Jan 2023 – Present | Menlo Park, California, United States Architect focused on end-to-end systems design. I am currently working on Cortex Code in Snowsight, our AI coding agent that continues our journey to make Snowflake the easiest place to interact with and draw insights from your data. Before that, I was responsible for UI infrastructure and the UI backend and how that ecosystem interacts with the rest of the Snowflake ecosystem. ### Software Engineer @ Meta Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | Menlo Park, California, United States Technical lead evolving Meta Business Suite to meet the needs of SMBs worldwide. Focused on end to end quality, data processing in an evolving regulatory environment, and infrastructure to help businesses reconnect with their existing customer base. ### FE Architect for the Next Generation of Gmail and Chat (Google Workspace) @ Google Jan 2012 – Jan 2021 | Sunnyvale, CA * Technical lead for unified Gmail frontend encompassing Chat and Meet, 500+ eng * Led multiple cross-organization projects to improve Google infrastructure to meet the needs of Workspace communications products * Led effort to design, build, and deploy the Inbox Android application designed to advanced email technology and effort to reincorporate that technology into Gmail ### Software Engineer @ Color Jan 2010 – Jan 2012 | Palo Alto, CA * Developed full-stack Android experiences * Supported our partnership with Verizon through feature development and both on-site and remote technical support * Served as Chief Privacy Officer ### Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2007 – Jan 2010 * Leading a 6+ team effort to improve facility utilization through application-aware dynamic resource management * Designed and developed software to intelligently manage machine power, energy, and thermal profiles * Assisting in academic research on improving datacenter energy efficiency and Google sponsor for multiple academic grants ### Research Associate @ Princeton University Jan 2002 – Jan 2007 * Designed, developed, and deployed an energy-aware mobile sensor network through the ZebraNet project, which employed mobile ad-hoc networking technologies to help track zebra migrations in ways not possible with current technology. I helped bring ZebraNet Collars to Kenya in January, 2004 for an initial deployment, and I was the lead software engineer for the team that redesigned and deployed new collars in June, 2005 * Developed a novel LZW variant that exploits characteristic patterns of sensor data to reduce energy consumption by more than 40% as well as further data transforms that can take advantage of the structure of the data to decrease energy consumption by nearly a factor of three * Developed a data abstraction layer for mobile sensor networks that reorganizes data from a network viewpoint. This organization facilitates the development of services for data identification, search, and reduction, which combine to make communications more efficient ### Summer Intern @ Google, Inc. Jan 2006 – Jan 2006 * Developed a system software daemon and supporting RPC interface to manage machine power consumption * Examined the response of Google applications to various CPU power management settings ### Summer Intern @ Telcordia Technologies Jan 2004 – Jan 2004 • Conducted research on self-healing in mobile ad hoc networks in conjunction with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s Collaborative Technology Alliance • Devised the framework for a cross-layer approach to self-healing designed to assist the routing protocol in maintaining network reliability in the presence of failures and, ultimately, reduce packet latency, reduce energy consumption, and ensure the successful completion of mission critical applications. ### Engineering Assistant @ US Army Research Laboratory Jan 1998 – Jan 2001 Some of my accomplishments over my four summer internships include: • Developed a complete physical layer simulation of a pulsed ultra-wideband communications receiver • Analyzed TCP/IP protocol boosters designed to improve the efficiency of satellite communications • Developed software to establish a network connection through tunneling for a mobile communications center ## Education ### Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Princeton University ### B.S. in Computer Engineering Penn State University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/csadler --- Source: https://flows.cv/chrissadler JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/chrissadler/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-12
