Conducted rigorous code and algorithm reviews, surfacing technical risks (fairness, scalability, transparency) and potential legal implications. Delivered dashboards and presentations to help non-technical stakeholders interpret findings and inform litigation and business strategy. Partnered with program teams to evaluate AI adoption pathways, balancing technical feasibility, compliance, and ethical considerations. Supported cross-functional project planning and workflow management, ensuring timely delivery across legal, business, and engineering teams. ### Software Engineer II (Tech Consultant I) @ Keystone AI Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco Bay Area Conducted market and data analysis for a global entertainment client, building equitable payout frameworks for digital creators using applied ML and statistical methods. Translated complex codebases and legal documentation into actionable insights for business leaders, influencing strategy across multiple jurisdictions. Experimented with early-stage AI/ML prototypes to assess real-world applicability, usability, and adoption barriers. Collaborated with diverse stakeholders across technical and legal teams to ensure strategies were both data-driven and ethically grounded. ### Machine Learning Researcher @ MIT D-Lab Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 Focused on developing low-cost, minimally invasive mobile health applications to improve healthcare access in underserved communities. - Designed, validated, and deployed novel CNN architectures to automate diabetic retinopathy diagnosis, reducing reliance on manual screening. - Developed iris image segmentation techniques to explore iridology-based biomarkers as an alternative diagnostic pathway. - Projected impact: reduce doctor diagnosis time by ~20% and expand early detection access to 20M+ people worldwide. - Mentored and supervised an undergraduate researcher, defining tasks and providing feedback on a retinal image processing pipeline to filter out low-quality medical images. ### Teaching Assistant @ Massachusetts Institute of Technology Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States Working with 20 teaching staff to plan logistics, prepare lesson plans, lecture, offer student office hours and grade assignments for a class attended >300 students. ### Advanced Data Analytics Intern @ Fidelity Investments Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States • Analyzed >1M data points with >20 features to investigate and project social media trends. Results were used to inform portfolio investment decision • Built hybrid model to rate unrated stocks from analyzing >100K analyst notes. The model comprised different ML methods that minimized errors and harnessed different model strengths in classifying different stocks. ### Machine Learning Researcher @ Insightiv Technologies Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States Insightiv diagnostics is a teleradiology platform for medical imaging diagnostics and research. As part of the engineering team at Insightiv I - trained, validated and deployed deep CNN's using AWS EC2, EBS etc. to diagnose diseases from medical x-ray images - built backend RESTful API's to access trained models - proposal and report writing that led project to win $15K from MIT Ideas Challenge in equity free funding ### Aladdin Product Group Engineering Analyst @ BlackRock Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater New York City Area Technology Analyst with the Portfolio Construction Team, within Aladdin Product Group, Blackrock's Tech Division. Redesigned and scaled an order generation module handling >1000 portfolios to be able to stably and efficiently process > 8000 portfolio orders. ### Undergraduate Research Fellow @ MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Cambridge, Massachusetts Conducted in-depth literature analysis on mobile money and its growth in sub-saharan Africa to understand it's success in Kenya and figure out whether it can be replicated in other countries. Used House-hold data collected in 2007 by MIT and Georgetown professors to investigate the efficiency of linear and non-linear classification methods in predicting mobile money adoption in Kenya, on a binary and non-binary scale in East Africa given socio-demographic characteristics. Used SKLearn to implement logistic regression, SVM, Random Forest. Found that non-linear methods performed better than linear methods given the nature of the data (87% accuracy) ### Visiting Research Fellow @ Office of the President Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Sierra Leone • Conducted market research and field studies to understand water shortage supply chains • Designed low-cost IOT water monitor based on market research to give real time updates on water levels in reservoirs thus improving reporting and alleviating logistical challenges. • Managing hardware design iterations and testing in lab to assess and prepare MVP for field-testing. • Wrote project proposals for and won $50K in funding toward my tuition, and further to develop and deploy product for market testing. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Africa's Talking Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Nairobi Interned with the back-end engineering team to build a micro-service monitoring tool for 4 principal company products, including an endpoint receiving >25 M hits daily to estimate company health metrics. Metrics were used to generate analytics, evaluate and quantify damages and error reporting. Also worked with Internal Operations and Human Resources to restructure 7 team work flows and seating arrangement to improve team dynamics and communication.
