Core engineer on demand-side product building end-to-end workflows for a government purchasing marketplace.

Hands-on lead of a full-stack engineering team owning monetization and B2B growth for a collaborative video product. My role involved:

• Partnering with Product and Marketing leads to prioritize projects driving recurring business revenue.

• Contributing to key migration projects, owning the payments and billing domain integrated with Stripe, and delivering user-facing features.

• Leading agile processes and team syncs to align with product and business objectives.

• Coaching and mentoring engineers, resulting in several successful promotions and professional growth milestones.

• Playing a key role in recruiting efforts to scale the engineering team effectively.

I joined Kapwing as their 10th hire during its growth from seed to Series A, contributing to core features and subsystems across the product. My work spanned from complex frontend animations to optimizing our video rendering pipeline, with a strong focus on product ownership and evaluating new technologies for integration.

Impactful projects included:

• An inline text editor utilizing Draft.js.

• A color selection eyedropper tool using HTML Canvas.

• A waveform visualizer using Web Audio API and FFT analysis.

• Architecting a distributed system for parallel video processing, boosting video output efficiency by 3-4x.

• Seeding our automated test suite with Cypress and Jest.
