Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States During my summer internship at DraftKings, I was apart the Reignmakers frontend team that built React components from scratch. This involved working with other engineers, designers, and managers to get components from Figma to production. ### Software Engineer Co-op @ HubSpot Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 During my five month co-op at HubSpot, I worked with three other engineers to build and maintain the frontend side of the "Helpdesk Settings" section of the HubSpot app. Some of the most noteworthy accomplishments that I contributed to during my tenure are as follows: - Converting the TypeScript usage in our main repository from 1% to 30% - Creating generic components for multiple teams to use - Improving the user experience when creating bots similar to ones commonly found in the bottom right or left corners of websites Along with these accomplishments, I also gained new experiences in the follows categories that I had never encountered before: - Working with I18n files and making the website accessible for non English speaking users - Code splitting new features to ensure optimal loading times - Working with international teammates in different timezones - Extensive frontend unit & acceptance testing to ensure safe deployments ### Software Engineer Intern @ M&T Bank Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Buffalo, New York, United States During my summer internship at M&T, I was apart of a team that began an "all in one" document search application. This application is estimated to be used by 2,000+ employees and save M&T $4 million annually once it replaces their existing third party search application. My role in the team consisted of developing the frontend portion of the application, specifically building out reusable components in Angular and designing an in browser image & PDF viewer. ### Software Engineer Co-op @ Jellyfish Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 My team was tasked with porting the existing customer onboarding process, which was done through terminal scripts, into the Jellyfish application. This involved gaining knowledge on how to build a professional full stack application with React + Django, both of which I had little experience of before hand. Jellyfish also introduced me to the skills needed to work in a team consisting of not only developers but also designers, project managers, and data engineers in a Kanban style of Agile software development. ### Research Assistant @ Rochester Institute of Technology Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 During my 2021 Fall Semester, I worked closely with my peers and professor to support the open source Vulnerability History Project at RIT. This included researching and transcribing software vulnerabilities, along with stabilizing and bug fixing the project webpage. When new vulnerabilities were submitted from other students or from external informants, I helped fact-check and proof-read them for correctness. ### Course Notetaker @ Rochester Institute of Technology Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Being a course notetaker required me to highlight and type out key portions of my professor's lectures so hard of hearing students could refer to them incase they could not hear or understand what the professor said. ### Software Engineer Intern @ PatientKeeper Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 At PatientKeeper, I was responsible for independently developing an application similar to Apple's TestFlight, using Python, Dart, Flutter, and NoSQL. This application was hosted entirely within Microsoft Azure. Due to this, I had to rebuild entities from the original application, which was hosted on company servers, to be compatible with cloud computing. This involved studying how Ruby, Rails, and Object Relational Mapping works so I could properly translate them to a Python + Flutter application. ### Delivery Driver @ Grotto Pizza Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania, United States ### Cashier @ Foodtown Supermarkets Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Dallas, Pennsylvania, United States ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering Rochester Institute of Technology Jan 2019 – Jan 2024 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/christopherbanas - GitHub: https://github.com/ChristopherBanas --- Source: https://flows.cv/christopherbanas JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/christopherbanas/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
