I'm a software engineer that enjoys architecting and building new systems to fit a need. I'm not interested in creating nickel-and-dime products - I want to support the consumer whether it's an adjacent team, internal support, or the end user. 

My path started with a physics degree (astro focus) but switched in my senior year to CS when I realized I enjoyed the programming and solution focused aspect more than research and academia.

Senior engineer on the Square Online Billing and Monetization team. Responsible for building and maintaining the billing and subscription system for all online services.

- Supported ~10k purchases each day across 6 currencies. 
- Created highly available feature restrictions supporting all aspects of the Square Online product. 300 QPS that missed the shared cache. 
- Worked frequently with the tax, finance, and international teams for tax changes, revenue reporting, and expansion into new markets. 
- Integrations with third party payment providers (PayPal, Braintree, Adyen, Square) and user-purchasable services (Domain registration with register.com and Google Workspace)

An REU at UNC Chapel HIll - Computational Astronomy and Physics. I worked with IDL to fit the specrum of a counter-rotating galaxy with simple stellar population models to determine the age of each stellar disk.
