I conducted research in computer vision and optical character recognition using OpenCV and Tesseract OCR. My team developed a Python/Flask web application that allows users to upload photos of grenades and automatically retrieve the grenade's serial number from the image. According to estimates from the organization, our proposed long-term solution will save the Department of the Navy at least $2,000,000 per year in personnel costs.
