I took the manager role to fulfill a vision of increasing engineering development speed through the Design System offerings. I worked with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers and content writers.

• Technical: designed, built and shipped a React UI library with over 50 components and other support libraries, which increased engineering development speed across the organization in at least 80%, and obtained in a high degree of UX cohesiveness across most Anaplan apps.

• Leadership: in 2.5 years achieved an overall 82% adoption of the Design System on both new and existing apps (about 20 apps), with 100% adoption on new apps. Increased collaboration and engagement across multiple engineering teams cross-functionally with product and design from around 3 per week to 3-5 per day.

• Cross-functional: Improved design-engineering handover process across the organization by driving changes in Design internal processes, resulting in increased adoption on the Design System to at least 90% on mockup designs (which allowed the aforementioned engineering development speed).

After working with Anaplan as a contractor for 3 years, due to my leadership, ownership and impact, Anaplan negotiated with Admios to hire me, offering me a full-time position with sponsorship and relocation to London, UK. I took the role of the engineering architect for the Design System.

• Technical: proposed a strategy to help the Design System succeed. Performed an assessment on the state of the frontend apps suite and established a mission and vision that would support the end goal of increasing both engineering speed, and overall UX cohesiveness across the suite of apps.

• Leadership: I saw the gap between design and engineering and how it affected productivity. Negotiated buy-in from key engineering leads and product owners and stakeholders to support the Design System initiative, resulting in an active participation from them. I created my own role as the architect of the React UI libraries, and got my own team.

Through Admios I worked exclusively for Anaplan (San Francisco, California) as a remote contractor.

• Technical: increased "Administration" web app feature development speed at least 3 times faster by introducing reusable component design, and by migrating the old unmaintainable tech stack to CRA + TS with no disruption to feature development. Reduced overall bugs hitting prod by shifting left on QA introducing engineering-owned end to end testing to the team.

• Technical: put DocuSign Integration in production after inheriting from a no longer existing contractor team; created documentation and a sustainable feature development process.

• Leadership: introduced Anaplan to first prototypes of contract testing and visual regression testing for frontend app development. Mentored teammates into reusable component design mindset.
