Jan 2023 – Present In my current role, I spearheaded the enhancement of the renowned 3D space simulation project, Celestia. I led the forking the original C++ codebase, customizing and extending its capabilities to meet specialized project requirements, thus significantly enhancing its functionality for proprietary uses. I also designed and implemented a low-latency, multi-threaded desktop application for real-time data acquisition, which utilizes hardware acceleration to interface seamlessly with various acquisition hardware and microcontrollers. This improvement has markedly increased data collection efficiency in real-time, mission-critical environments. Additionally, I developed a robust data visualization module using Python and Matplotlib that processes and displays insightful graphs from large datasets, improving data analysis and interpretation accuracy by 50%. Furthermore, I have been responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading the codebase of a 3D Nodal Plotter Simulation, implementing optimization techniques that boosted rendering performance by 33%. Additionally, I stepped up to enhance the parallel processing capabilities of our Matlab simulations. ## Education ### Master of Science - MS in Computer Science Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering Jan 2023 – Jan 2027 ### Master of Music Berklee College of Music Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 ### Bachelor of Music Indiana University Bloomington Jan 2014 – Jan 2018 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/christopher-j-pohl-848b24145 - GitHub: https://github.com/Greentrunk --- Source: https://flows.cv/christopherjpohl JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/christopherjpohl/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-20
