# Christopher Miller > Senior Software Engineer at Ardley, Inc. Location: Houston, Texas, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/christophermiller Senior Software Engineer with deep experience designing and operating scalable systems on AWS, specializing in Java-based backends, JavaScript (React) frontends, cloud-native architectures, and high-performance data models. Over the last three years I've worked with small, fast-moving startups where ownership matters: designing systems end-to-end, making pragmatic tradeoffs, tackling a breadth of technical and organizational challenges that typically span a decade of engineering experience, and shipping software with high-leverage teams where there’s no place to hide behind process or headcount. My work has included high-throughput DynamoDB designs, serverless architectures, long-running workflows, and customer-isolated infrastructure using CloudFormation (IaC), Lambda, S3, and CloudFront. While Java has been my primary tool for building reliable business logic and APIs (JAX-RS, Quarkus, AWS Lambda), I’m also expanding into Rust for performance-critical tooling (recently building parsers and desktop utilities where correctness and efficiency matter). I tend to gravitate toward problems that sit at the intersection of: - Data modeling & scale - Operational simplicity - Security, correctness, and performance - APIs and systems built for non-technical users Outside of pure engineering, I enjoy mentoring, clear technical communication, and building systems that don’t require heroics to maintain. I believe good software is boring in production (and that’s a compliment)! ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Ardley Jan 2022 – Present ### Software Engineer @ Resource Management Concepts, Inc.
