I worked with an incredibly talented group of around 20 engineers on Infrastructure. We were responsible for supporting and enabling the 120+ developers at LiveRamp.
Our focus during my time in this role was moving LiveRamp's entire Infrastructure from hardware in a colocation facility to Google Cloud Platform. Our hardware included:
• 2,700 node Hadoop cluster with 90+ PB of storage and 90,000 CPU cores
• A large VMware environment managed with Chef
• Hundreds of of systems and services that ran on top of these
We embedded with other development teams at LiveRamp to help them move their systems and navigate their new environment. The migration was completed in just over a year with no visible customer downtime. LiveRamp's entire environment now runs in Google Cloud.
